From Empty Chairs to Victory: Sofronio’s Unstoppable Journey to Win The Voice US
The season finale aired Tuesday night when the Team Bublé singer prevailed above rest of the final five by receiving the most votes from viewers. Along with the title of “The Voice,” Vasquez also earned the $100,000 prize and record deal that comes with it.
Not only did coach Michael Bublé score his first win, he was also the only coach to have two contestants in the top five and later the final two, with 17-year-old New York performer Shye as the runner up.
Vasquez, a 32-year-old from Mindanao, Philippines won following two electric performances Monday night of “Unstoppable” by Sia and “A Million Dreams” from “The Greatest Showman.”
“Your mentorship is a blessing to me, my family and to all the dreamers out there. You have opened up so many doors,” Vasquez told his coach moments before his win.
