Produced by GRAMMY® award-winning producer Jay Joyce, “Hang Tight Honey” offers a buoyant yet honest take on a difficult situation that Wilson and many other working folk face in their every-day lives. Showcases Wilson’s Determination To Achieve Her Dreams

Although it can be difficult to be away from home as often as she is, the song illustrates how Wilson is able to get through the longest stretches of time knowing that she has constant support from her family and friends and that they will always be there waiting for her when she returns. Plus, her signature vocals emphasize her strong work ethic and incredible resilience that has led to her current reign of massive success as a country star.

“I got a bus ‘fore I got a house ‘cause/ That’s what dreams make you do/ Hittin’ them neon honky-tonks/ To play a two step or two/ Two hundred days to a hundred towns/ Bringing boots to a sawdust floor/ While this 6 string calls my name baby/ I’ll be missing yours,” Wilson sings in the opening verse.

The multi-platinum GRAMMY®-award winning artist continues onto the chorus, “Hang tight honey I’m a white line running/ Down a dream on a long lost highway/ Me and this band playingone night stands/ For some fans getting straight up sideways/ But baby I miss your blue-collar kiss/ Just one more day to get through/ Hang tight honey got a picket full of money/ And imp headed straight home to you.”

Opening Up About The More Difficult Sides Of The Job

Throughout the nostalgic notes of funk and rock mixed with her authentic country storytelling, Wilson reveals that all the scarifies she has made throughout her life have been worth it because it means she also gets to give back to her loved ones.

In celebration of her latest drop, Wilson took to Instagram to share a bit of insight into her perspective of the song’s narrative.

“I’ve been runnin’ the roads nonstop for a few years now and I ain’t gonna lie to y’all, sometimes it can be tough being away from home that much,” the Louisiana native wrote in the caption. “At the same time, remembering what ‘home’ is and the things that I get to do for the ones I love because of the work I put in, is what keeps me going and makes it all worthwhile.

“This one’s an anthem for the hard working men and women that get up every dang day and put in long hours to make a life worth living for the ones they love most,” she added.

Available now via Broken Bow Records, “Hang Tight Honey” made its world premiere on Country radio on Monday, May 13, and is set to impact next Monday, May 20. This release filled with high energy and catchy lyrics comes hot on the heels of the news that Lainey Wilson’s forthcoming record, Whirlwind, is dropping August 23, 2024.

The project is expected to offer “an innovative and grounded extension of Wilson’s signature sound,” meaning listeners will likely experience a wide-range of emotions while listening to the “diverse yet sonically cohesive” collection. She continues to honor her Western roots by sharing some of her most personal stories to date through a series of raw, reflective tracks.

“I am so excited to finally announce Whirlwind. This album has been a long time coming and I can’t wait for the world to have this body of work in their hands soon,” Wilson said in a recent release. “This new chapter of music is the most cathartic and personal piece of art I’ve ever made. I hope this record brings some peace to your whirlwind and wraps its arms around you like it did for me.”

His only words: “You are the wind in my sails. So deeply grateful.”
