In a hilarious and down-to-earth moment, Jelly Roll went to Walmart to buy his own new album—only to find that the employee who helped him had no idea who he was! The country rapper’s reaction, paired with the employee’s surprise, made for an unexpectedly funny exchange. It’s a reminder that even superstars like Jelly Roll can have relatable, everyday experiences—and this one is sure to make fans laugh!

For now, Jelly Roll can still go out in public and not be recognized as a celebrity.

That’s somewhat hard to believe, and I’m sure that’ll change sooner rather than later. But as you’ll see in the video below, there are still some people out there who aren’t up to date with the rapper-turned-country-artist. That leads to some rather funny fan interactions from time to time.

The “Need A Favor” singer has been keeping his followers updated throughout his Beautifully Broken Tour with behind-the-scenes video posts from out on the road. In the latest one, Jelly Roll went back to Walmart to see if he could snag some of his CDs and vinyls. And I said “back” there because Jelly once went to Wally World to buy his Whitsitt Chapel album… and they didn’t have it.

This time around, he had some better luck finding his new Beautifully Broken record – and even grabbed a vinyl copy of Post Malone’s F-1 Trillion. However, the clip is comical because the Walmart employee that he got to help him access the locked up records had no idea who he was – and he apparently doesn’t listen to country music.

The video first starts out with Jelly Roll walking into the Walmart, getting fired up to find Beautifully Broken and confessing his love for the superstore:

I love Walmart. They’re all set up the same. They’re like Waffle House. I know where everything is at.”

He then walked straight back to the entertainment section (anyone who has been to a Walmart knows what I’m talking about) to start looking, and sure enough, there were some copies of Beautifully Broken available – only they were locked up and required employee assistance to access.

That’s where a Walmart employee named Orlando comes in, and I’ll just let you see for yourself how it all went down:

THEY FIRED HIM ON A TUESDAY. BY SATURDAY, HE WAS SMILING ON A SAILBOAT. Scott Pelley spent 37 years at CBS News. He anchored the Evening News. He reported from war zones. He won dozens of Emmys. And last week, on his new boss’s very first day, he stood up in a staff meeting and said what nobody else would. He told executive producer Nick Bilton he’d “never be welcome here.” He accused CBS chief Bari Weiss of “murdering” 60 Minutes. But what Pelley claimed they asked him to do behind the scenes — that part changes everything. Within 24 hours, he was handed a termination letter. Fired “for cause.” 37 years, gone in a single page. Then Saturday morning, he posted a photo on Instagram. No anger. Just him at the helm of a sailboat, hands on the wheel, American flag behind him, looking out at open water. His only words: “You are the wind in my sails. So deeply grateful.”
