THE GIRL THEY SAID WOULDN’T MAKE IT — NOW SHE’S TAKING OVER AMERICA! Sydnie Christmas Drops Her First Original Album and Plans a Comeback That Will Leave the Nation Speechless!

For many, Sydnie Christmas will forever be remembered as the Britain’s Got Talent winner who stunned the nation with her powerhouse renditions of classic songs. But now, Christmas is deliberately carving a path that sets her apart from the image of “theatrical cover singer.” In a series of recent announcements, the West End performer revealed she is recording her first-ever album of original songs, preparing for a PBS-filmed concert at London’s Adelphi Theatre, and even teasing a return to the United States — a combination of projects that marks a defining moment in her career.

Sydnie Christmas to lead 101 Dalmatians musical in London

The shift toward original material is perhaps the most significant development. In an interview with Bizarre, Christmas explained that writing has always been part of her life, though she never imagined her songs would one day reach an audience. “I never thought I would have an album of original songs,” she admitted. “I have been writing since I was a child and never imagined it would see the light of day. Now that I’m an adult, I get to write and find my style. People see me and think: ‘She’s a theatrical singer,’ but that’s not all I do.”

That desire to expand her artistry beyond covers has been a recurring theme for Christmas. Since winning BGT in 2024, she has headlined major shows, toured across the UK, and taken on roles in musical theatre. Most recently, she embodied Cruella de Vil in 101 Dalmatians The Musical, a role that allowed her to flex her dramatic range. The production also introduced audiences to her new single, “Animal Lover,” written by Douglas Hodge for the show. The song captures Cruella’s darkly comic villainy, with Christmas delivering it in a way that blends her trademark vocal power with character-driven flair. While it is technically a theatrical number, “Animal Lover” is one of the first recordings that showcases her outside the structure of a talent show setting.

Her upcoming Adelphi Theatre performance on September 9 is another crucial step. Not only is it a high-profile West End concert, but it will also be filmed for PBS in America, giving her exposure to a broad new audience. “I’m so excited,” she shared. “We’re actually filming a show for PBS in America and it’s fantastic. It’s definitely better than my previous show. I will be debuting several new songs that people have not yet heard.” That comment alone signals how important this concert will be as a launchpad for her original work.

Christmas has also revealed that BGT judge Amanda Holden will be among the first to hear her new material. Their ongoing friendship has made headlines, and Holden’s early feedback could help shape how the music is received by industry insiders.

Taken together, these projects show a clear trajectory. Christmas isn’t content to rest on her competition-show laurels or simply reprise beloved standards. Instead, she is building a career that balances her theatrical roots with her growth as a recording artist. With original music on the horizon, a filmed West End performance, and new international opportunities, Sydnie Christmas is stepping into a bold new chapter — one that may very well redefine her future in music.
