A few weeks after the birth of his second child, “American Idol” winner Scotty McCreery opened up about a special bond he shares with his first son, Avery. On October 13th, 2025, Taste of Country shared a Reel in which McCreery revealed that he and Avery have one sweet thing in common: music.
“Every member of the family has a song,” the singer said of listening to music in the car with Avery. “So if he says, ‘Daddy song,’ he wants to hear ‘Cab in a Solo.’” As he described, his oldest child has a designated track he likes to hear for his mom, Papa, and Gigi as well. “He’ll just yell out requests,” McCreery added. “He’ll listen for ten seconds and then want another one.” Clearly, the apple hasn’t fallen far from the musical tree.
Disney Soundtracks are Beloved in the McCreery Household

Avery’s love of music comes as no surprise given his father’s profession; he’s already had plenty of exposure to the country music world in his young life. In 2023, a then-infant Avery even accompanied his parents to the famed Country Music Hall of Fame in Nashville. During their visit, the family posed for photos in front of a display in the “American Currents: State of the Music” exhibit featuring McCreery.

“Can’t imagine life without him, we love him so berry much!” Gabi captioned the post. The carousel of photos included a snap of Avery holding his new brother and beaming from ear to ear.
McCreery took some time off from touring to be with his family for the birth, but the year of live performances isn’t over for him yet. The singer will be back on the road on Novemeber 6th, 2025, for the first of nearly a dozen scheduled shows that month.
