Michael Bublé, Niall Horan, Reba McEntire and Snoop Dogg are back in the coaching chairs, ready to guide a new round of contestants through Season 28 of NBC’s The Voice. To kick things off, all four of the coaches came together to deliver a spectacular performance of Steve Miller Band’s “The Joker” in front of a live audience. Prior to taking the stage, the star-studded group of singers took viewers behind-the-scenes to share how they prepared for their collaboration.
“We’re singing ‘The Joker’ by the Steve Miller Band, which is one of my favorite songs of all time so this is gonna be good,” Horan noted.

During their the rehearsals, the coaches got to catch up with members of the singing competition crew, including the performance producers, band leaders and other members of the band, and work out the final kinks before showtime.
“Okay, so this was our sound check for our coaches’ performance,” McEntire explained to the camera. “We came up here, we’ve got our in-ears on. We checked the balance with the band, in-ears okay, and now we’re going to get out of here and let the audience come in and we’ll come back and do it again. Stay tuned.”
The venue quickly flooded with a lucky group of fans who got the first look at the type of energy that will fill the chairs for Season 28. They screamed in anticipation as the coaches were welcomed to the stage.
“Time for the real thing. No more practice, no more rehearsals,” Bublé pointed out with confidence and excitement oozing from his voice.
The lights shined bright across the stage as the audience clapped and sang along with the powerful performance, featuring a set of voices that spans a wide-variety of genres.
Season 28 of The Voice returns to the screen tonight, September 22. The blind auditions will begin during the show’s all-new, two-hour premiere airing at 8/7c on NBC and next day on Peacock. Viewers can come back on Tuesday, Sept. 23 at the same time to catch another round of hopeful performers and find out who makes the cut.
The fresh mix of four coaches will also return to their seats and begin building out their teams. They will be joined by host Carson Daly, who has served in his role on the show since it debuted in 2011.
