Malia and Sasha Obama party with rapper Drake

A few years after Barack Obama said Drake is “able to do anything he wants,” the Canadian rapper was spotted getting wild with his two daughters.

Partying at a Hollywood hotspot with the rapper, Malia Obama and her little sister Sasha were scantily clad, one bearing her midriff and the other wearing a revealing top.

Life in the White House must have been tough for former first daughters Malia and Sasha Obama, girls who just want to have fun.

Malia (born on Independence Day in 1998) and Sasha ( June 10, 2001) – the daughters of former President Barack Obama and Michelle Obama – were under the microscope from 2009 to 2017 when they lived at 1600 Pennsylvania Ave NW, one of the most famous addresses in the world.

“They are watched. They had to learn how to balance the unwanted attention, but do it politely. To build their own lives in the spotlight and not be eaten up by it,” the former first lady said on the Moments that Make Us podcast with Melinda French Gates.

She continues, “Well those girls had to be smart and confident and independent straight away, even when they were living in a house with butlers and maids and florists. But I was raising them thinking, ‘You’re not going to live here, and with me, forever. So I’ve got to hand you your life soon and let you manage it.’”

Malia
In 2014, when Malia was readying for prom, her dad had a difficult time seeing his first born all grown up.

“I think it’s fair to say that the first time you see your daughter in heels is a little bit jarring,” he said on Live with Kelly & Michael. “She’s lovely. She’s beautiful.”

After graduating high school in 2016, the young woman took a gap year before attending Harvard University, where she graduated in 2021.

Showing interest in entertainment, Malia used her year off to work in the industry, roles that include production assistant on Halle Berry’s CBS sci-fi drama series Extant, and as a writer on the Amazon series Swarm.

In 2024, Malia, under the name Malia Ann, made her debut at the Sundance Film Festival with Heart, a short film she wrote and directed.

Sasha
Barack tells People in 2008 that Sasha “is just full of energy and the comedian in the family.”

After Sasha graduated high school in 2019, she started her first year at the University of Michigan learning online during the Covid pandemic.

The 23-year-old graduated from the University of Southern California in May 2023 with an undergraduate degree in sociology.

The siblings now live together in a Los Angeles home.

“It feels good to know that the two girls you raised find solace at a kitchen table with one another. It’s like the one thing you want for them,” Michelle Obama said.

All grown up
Malia and Sasha also “find solace” partying together.

The beautiful ladies were captured in images partying through the night with Canadian rapper Drake at The Bird Streets Club in Los Angeles.

Both were wearing scantily clad outfits that were suitable for the event.

Sasha bared her belly in a black cropped corset that she paired with slouchy, low-slung cargo pants and open toe shoes.

She styled her braids in a high ponytail and glistened with the bling on her ears, necklace and rings.

Matching her sisters free-style vibe, Malia appeared in a sheer lace-up top that she paired with high-waisted printed trousers that hugged her every curve.

Malia wore her long brown locks over her shoulders and completed her look with chunky lug sole boots.

According to reports, the girls partied at the Hollywood hotspot until 4 a.m. and then packed into a car with their friends.

Obamas and rap royalty
Drake, who shares a mutual admiration with the Obamas, was in Los Angeles at the Crypto.com arena (formerly Staples Center) for his “It’s All A Blur Big As The What?” tour.

The Toronto-born rapper previously expressed interest in playing Barack if a biopic is ever made.

“I hope somebody makes a movie about Obama’s life soon because I could play him,” the “God’s Plan” singer said in 2010.

And in 2020, the former president gushed about the possibility.

“I will say this, Drake seems to be able to do anything he wants,” Barack said when asked about the rapper wanting to play him in a film. “I mean, that is a talented, talented brother. So, if the time comes and he’s ready…”

He adds, “Drake has, more importantly I think, my household’s stamp of approval. I suspect (my daughters) Malia and Sasha would be just fine with it.”

It was supposed to be just another glamorous night at Paris Fashion Week — until Nicole Kidman did something no one saw coming. After the Chanel runway show wrapped, the Oscar winner stepped onto the stage hand-in-hand with her daughters Sunday Rose, 17, and Faith, 14, and whispered into the mic, “I’m just an actress… but tonight, I’m singing for my heart, for my girls, and for every woman who’s ever had to start again.” The lights dimmed. The orchestra fell silent. Then, Nicole began to sing — a haunting ballad she had written herself, filled with raw lines about love, loss, and letting go. Her voice trembled, cracked, then soared. By the chorus, both daughters had joined in, harmonizing softly through tears. As the final note faded, the three held each other in a long embrace — no acting, no glamour, just truth.
