Gwen Stefani celebrated a major milestone this week: her son Zuma turned 17. To mark the occasion, the 55-year-old singer shared a heartfelt carousel of photos on Instagram, giving fans a glimpse of the teenager growing up—and looking remarkably like his stepdad, country superstar Blake Shelton.
The series of posts, shared Thursday, August 21, showcased Zuma through the years, from baby snapshots to recent images of him strumming an acoustic guitar while performing a cover of Zach Bryan’s 2024 hit Dawns at home. But one photo stood out: Zuma posing alongside Blake, sporting a mullet reminiscent of the one the country singer rocked in the early 2000s, giving off “mini-Blake” vibes.

“Happy birthday to our sweet and talented Zuma!! We love u soooo much!! ” Gwen captioned the heartfelt carousel.
The celebration also included a special onstage moment at Blake’s bar, Ole Red, in Tishomingo, Oklahoma, where the proud stepdad introduced Zuma to an audience. The occasion highlighted not only Zuma’s musical aspirations but also the close bond he shares with Blake, who has embraced the role of stepdad since marrying Gwen in July 2021 on his Oklahoma ranch.

Blake has been open about the joys of introducing Gwen’s children—Zuma, Kingston, 19, and Apollo, 11—to the country lifestyle. “Whether it’s music, whether it’s literally getting out, getting their hands in the dirt or being out on the ranch, seeing the animals, whatever, you know? I absolutely love being the person that gets to introduce them to that stuff,” he told ET in 2024.
Reflecting on his approach to step-parenting, Blake added, “I learned quickly, not because anything happened, but just, you know, reading the room, you’ve really got [to think], ‘I have to take a step back.’ When people say it’s not about you anymore when you have a kid… I think, if you’re doing it right, it’s not about you anymore. That’s true.”
With his growing talent, shared musical moments with Blake, and a supportive family, Zuma seems poised to carve out his own place in the spotlight—while keeping a little of his stepdad’s style along the way.
