Blake Shelton Reveals Gwen Stefani’s Secret Weapon in the Kitchen — and It’s a Classic Italian Favorite

Country superstar Blake Shelton may dominate the stage, but at home, it’s his wife, Gwen Stefani, who calls the shots in the kitchen — especially when it comes to Italian comfort food.

In a candid conversation on the Country Heat Weekly podcast with hosts Amber Anderson and Kelly Hutton, aired May 15, 2025, Shelton, 48, wasted no time in giving credit where it’s due. “Gwen mostly cooks,” he said with a smile, before revealing the dish that’s stolen his heart (and appetite): lasagna.

“I Could Eat That for the Rest of My Life”

Shelton couldn’t hide his enthusiasm when describing Stefani’s homemade lasagna. “Man, she’s really good at anything Italian. But my favorite is probably lasagna,” he said, noting that the process is no quick fix. “It’s one of those things it takes her all day, like, it’s an all-day thing, you know?”

That level of care, he hinted, makes it more than just dinner — it’s an event in their home. “I could eat that for the rest of my life,” Shelton added, cementing its spot at the top of his culinary wish list.

Italian Roots, Family Traditions

While lasagna reigns supreme in the everyday kitchen lineup, Shelton also acknowledged Stefani’s broader Italian cooking chops, which extend to homemade pizza and an elaborate holiday timpano — a dome-shaped pasta dish filled with eggs, sauce, cheese, and more. The timpano has become a Christmas tradition for the couple, but lasagna, Shelton stressed, is the regular favorite.

More Than a Meal

For Shelton, Stefani’s lasagna isn’t just about flavor — it’s a reminder of the love and care that goes into a home-cooked meal. In a life filled with tour dates, television tapings, and public appearances, the long, slow process of making lasagna is a comforting constant.

And while fans may know Shelton as the down-to-earth coach from The Voice or the man behind hits like God’s Country, this peek into his home life shows another side — one where the perfect plate of lasagna, made by the woman he loves, can rival even the biggest moments on stage.

Carrie Underwood is facing a battle far from the spotlight—and it’s happening on her own land. The American Idol legend is struggling to keep her massive 400-acre Tennessee farm and its dozens of animals in order, and the problem isn’t money—it’s manpower. Despite her fame, she can’t find enough workers to help keep the property running. Fences need mending, fields need tending, animals need care, and the workload is piling up fast. It’s a race against time before the farm—and the creatures who call it home—feel the strain. Now, Carrie is sending out an urgent call for help, because even country superstars can’t do it all alone.

Owning a farm was a no-brainer for Carrie Underwood, who grew up on one in Checotah, Oklahoma. A self-described green thumb, the country star, 42, lives on 400 acres…

She never got the chance to stand at the front of her first classroom — but Blake Shelton just made sure her dream echoes across America. Katherine Ferruzzo was only 18 when the Texas floods took her life, leaving behind a quiet but fierce wish: to teach children with special needs. In her college essay, she’d written one line that could stop your heart — “I want to teach the kids the world doesn’t see.” When Blake stumbled across those words, he didn’t just read them… he felt them. Without fanfare, without an announcement, he sat down and poured them into a song — Still Teaching — a tender ballad that now carries Katherine’s voice to places she never lived to see. Today, that song is breaking hearts from coast to coast. Because somehow… she’s still teaching. Not in a classroom, but in a way even more powerful — through music, through memory, through the love that outlives us all. And when the chorus comes, it’s not just Blake Shelton singing — it’s Katherine, speaking straight to the soul.
