Blake Shelton might be known for snacking on Cheetos during his tours, but when it comes to home-cooked meals, there’s one dish made by his wife Gwen Stefani that he simply can’t get enough of: her homemade lasagna.
The country music star and The Voice alum, married to the pop icon since 2021, has long praised Gwen’s culinary skills—especially her Italian cooking. Living on their Oklahoma ranch with Gwen’s three sons—Kingston, Zuma, and Apollo—the couple often bond over family meals. “Everything is a reason to get together and cook,” Shelton shared with The Good Dish. “It’s so much fun… I love to eat, they love to cook, and everything works out. I feel like I’m a good sous chef for her.”
During a May 2025 episode of the Country Heat Weekly podcast, Shelton revealed that lasagna is his favorite dish Gwen makes, calling it an “all day thing” that he would happily eat “for the rest of my life.”
“Man, she’s really good at anything Italian,” Shelton said. “But my favorite is probably lasagna. That’s one of those things it takes her all day, like, it’s an all day thing, you know? And I would eat that for the rest of my life.”
Shelton also shared that Gwen is passionate about making homemade pizza from scratch—preparing the dough, letting it rise, and baking it in a pizza oven. “She really does this stuff for real,” he said with admiration, joking, “Who does that?”
The couple’s love for Italian cuisine extends beyond everyday meals into holiday traditions. Since Blake entered Gwen’s life, they’ve made the labor-intensive timpano pasta dome a Christmas staple. In a 2021 interview with KOST 103.5, Gwen described the dish as “basically almost like a lasagna, but it’s baked inside of a dough.”
The intricate timpano preparation involves homemade dough and sauce layered with stuffed pasta and cheese, a process the pair showcased in a 2023 video. Shelton further explained the decadent dish on The Jennifer Hudson Show in 2024, humorously detailing the multiple layers of red sauce, Alfredo, “some other bullcrap,” and cheese. When cut open, he said, “there’s heaven inside of there.”
While their pasta dome has become a beloved tradition, not all culinary experiments have been hits. Shelton recalled a quirky Thanksgiving moment when his stepsons made a turkey coated with Flamin’ Hot Cheetos—a viral TikTok-inspired recipe. “There’s really no point to it,” he admitted with a laugh on The Jennifer Hudson Show in 2023.
Still, when it comes to Gwen’s Italian cooking, Shelton is clear: the lasagna is a labor of love he’d gladly enjoy forever, proving that in their home, food is a way to celebrate family, culture, and creativity.
