Blake Shelton, riding high on the success of his #1 country hit “Texas” and his twelfth studio album For Recreational Use Only, recently revealed a transformative shift in his spiritual life—one he attributes largely to the influence of his wife, Gwen Stefani.

In a heartfelt conversation with Kelleigh Bannen on Apple Music’s Today’s Country Radio, Shelton opened up about how Stefani’s vibrant faith has helped him deepen his relationship with God. “I would say that [it] comes from Gwen’s influence,” he said. “I’ve learned so much from her, and she’s really the person who’s helped me get in touch with my faith and get serious about it.”

Shelton’s music has long reflected themes of faith, from his Grammy-nominated cover of Dave Barnes’ “God Gave Me You” to his 2016 single “Savior’s Shadow.” Yet, as he moves further into his 40s, his spirituality has evolved beyond occasional references or award-show mentions to something more authentic and integral.

“It’s not just something that you say at an award show in those moments, like get real about it,” Shelton explained. He credited Stefani’s daily example, saying, “She reminds me to think about it all day long when you’re around her. Everything she sees, she sees God in it. It’s really special to be around her because her faith is alive.”

Stefani, known for her Catholic upbringing and openness about her spiritual journey, has recently been in the spotlight for promoting the prayer and meditation app Hallow. Her faith path notably included waiting to marry Shelton until her previous marriage to Gavin Rossdale was annulled by the Catholic Church—an act underscoring her deep commitment to her beliefs.

Shelton reflected on how inspiring Stefani’s passion for faith has been for him: “She’s so happy about it. She loves to share it to anybody who will listen. It’s incredible to be around her.”
