“And I would eat that for the rest of my life,” Shelton said of his wife’s pasta dish
Blake Shelton is giving fans a delicious glimpse into the kitchen magic of his wife, Gwen Stefani. During a recent episode of the Country Heat Weekly podcast, the country superstar didn’t hold back his praise for Stefani’s cooking skills—especially when it comes to her homemade lasagna.
“Gwen mostly cooks,” Shelton said with admiration. “Man, she’s really good at anything Italian. But my favorite is probably lasagna.” What makes her lasagna stand out? Shelton revealed it’s a labor of love that takes all day to prepare. “That’s one of those things it takes her all day, like, it’s an all day thing, you know? And I would eat that for the rest of my life.”
But lasagna is just the tip of the culinary iceberg. Shelton also highlighted Gwen’s commitment to authenticity in the kitchen. “She makes homemade pizza,” he shared, emphasizing that she makes everything from scratch—the dough, the rising, and the perfect bake in the pizza oven. “She really does this stuff for real.”
The couple, who began dating in 2015 and married in 2021, clearly share a passion for food and experimentation. Ahead of Thanksgiving 2024, Shelton told PEOPLE about their open-minded food philosophy: “Never say no to any kind of food. Whatever you want to try, I’ll try it. Just bring it on.”
Their creativity extends to holiday traditions, too. Shelton recounted unique Thanksgiving adventures like making “Flamin’ Hot Cheetos turkey,” crusted entirely in the spicy snack, followed by a “Funyuns turkey” that surprisingly tasted close to a classic roast. And for 2021, a bacon-wrapped turkey was on the menu, inspired by a photo one of Stefani’s sons spotted. “We’re doing it,” Shelton confirmed.
From all-day lasagna masterpieces to bold holiday meals, Gwen Stefani’s culinary talents clearly keep Blake Shelton—and his appetite—more than satisfied. As Shelton says, when it comes to Gwen’s cooking, “I would eat that for the rest of my life.”

Blake Shelton is dishing about Gwen Stefani’s cooking skills.
During the Thursday, May 15 episode of the Country Heat Weekly podcast with Amber Anderson and Kelly Hutton, the “God Gave Me You” spoke about what his wife is good at making.
When asked who cooks at their house, Shelton, 48, immediately praised Stefani, 55. “Gwen mostly cooks,” he said. “Man, she’s really good at anything Italian. But my favorite is probably lasagna.”
The country star also mentioned that Stefani is very focused on the process of cooking the layered pasta dish. “That’s one of those things it takes her all day, like, it’s an all day thing, you know? And I would eat that for the rest of my life.”
Stefani’s homemade delicacies don’t stop there. “She makes homemade pizza,” Shelton continued, emphasizing how she makes everything from scratch. “Makes the dough, the dough rises, separates it, like, in the pizza oven. She really does this stuff for real.”
The couple, who started dating in 2015 and got married in 2021, are all about food. Shelton told PEOPLE ahead of Thanksgiving in 2024 one important rule about food that they follow: “Never say no to any kind of food. Whatever you want to try, I’ll try it. Just bring it on.”
He’s also not afraid of getting creative with Thanksgiving leftovers. “I heard a guy on the radio a couple of years ago talk about if you have leftover stuffing, the next morning put it in your waffle iron and make those stuffing waffles,” he said.
“Now I do that. Now I make enough that I know there’ll be some leftover.”
Shelton also told PEOPLE in 2021 about the nontraditional turkeys that they will cook for the holiday — and they’re not afraid to experiment with unusual ingredients.
“The first year, we made a hot Flamin’ Hot Cheetos turkey,” he said, recalling the Thanksgiving traditions he shares with Stefani and her sons Kingston, Zuma and Apollo.
“We crusted it in the Flamin’ Hot Cheetos. The next year Apollo, or maybe it was Zuma; I can’t remember. We ended up doing a Funyuns turkey, which actually tasted a lot like a regular turkey. I guess whatever they put in Funyuns, it’s the same stuff.”

The Voice alum, who released his latest album For Recreational Use Only on May 9, had a mouth-watering turkey in mind for 2021 — bacon-wrapped.
“One of them saw a picture of the bacon-wrapped — like the whole thing, and we’re doing it,” Shelton said of Stefani’s sons.
