Country superstar Blake Shelton is no stranger to hard work—but even for a music icon, life on the farm comes with its own set of challenges. The 49-year-old recently gave fans a candid and entertaining glimpse into his daily ranch life, revealing that heavy rains have left parts of his sprawling 1,300-acre Oklahoma property literally sinking underfoot.
In a playful Instagram video, Shelton shared his latest adventure while tending to his sweetcorn crop. “About to do a little spraying on my sweetcorn. Got all my stuff loaded up there in the orange Kubota, and man, it’s been one of those years in Oklahoma,” he joked, setting the scene.
Despite the lush conditions, Shelton warned that appearances can be deceiving. “It’s been awesome, but man, we’ve had a lot of rain, and areas that look dry, even though they look dry, they’re saturated.” The camera then panned to a muddy mess of deep tire tracks—evidence of his trusty Kubota tractor’s struggle.
“When I tried to drive through, it ended up sinking,” Blake explained. “I hit the gas pedal, put it in four-wheel drive, and I pulled her on out.” Ever the entertainer, Shelton even broke into song mid-story:
“I was way down in it with a big old loader, but I always pull out when I’m on my Kubota…”
Captioning the clip with his trademark humor, he advised fans: “Don’t get overwhelmed in the moment… Concentrate on pulling out. #kubota.”
Shelton’s Oklahoma ranch has become more than just a retreat. Purchased for roughly $4 million, the property is where he and wife Gwen Stefani built their dream home. The couple raises animals, cultivates crops, and even constructed a chapel on the land, where they famously wed in summer 2021.
Between ranch life and city living, Blake, Gwen, and her children—Kingston (19), Zuma (16), and Apollo (11)—split their time between the rural Oklahoma paradise and their $14 million mega-mansion in Encino, Los Angeles.
As Blake Shelton’s muddy tractor mishap shows, even with the ups and downs of country living, there’s always a song to sing and a smile to share.
