Blake Shelton is serving up some mouthwatering praise for his wife Gwen Stefani’s cooking skills—and fans are getting an exclusive peek into her kitchen wizardry. On a recent episode of the Country Heat Weekly podcast, the country star gushed about Stefani’s homemade Italian dishes, with her lasagna stealing the show.
“Gwen mostly cooks,” Shelton shared with admiration. “Man, she’s really good at anything Italian. But my favorite is probably lasagna.” What makes it so special? Shelton revealed it’s a true labor of love that takes her an entire day to prepare. “That’s one of those things it takes her all day, like, it’s an all day thing, you know? And I would eat that for the rest of my life.”
But Gwen’s culinary talents go far beyond lasagna. Shelton also highlighted her dedication to authenticity, especially when it comes to homemade pizza. “She makes homemade pizza,” he said, emphasizing that she crafts everything from scratch—including the dough, the rising process, and the perfect bake in the pizza oven. “She really does this stuff for real.”
Since beginning their relationship in 2015 and tying the knot in 2021, the couple has clearly bonded over a shared passion for food and adventurous cooking. Ahead of Thanksgiving 2024, Shelton told PEOPLE about their open-minded approach to meals: “Never say no to any kind of food. Whatever you want to try, I’ll try it. Just bring it on.”
Their culinary creativity shines during the holidays too. Shelton recounted some of their unique Thanksgiving experiments, like a turkey crusted entirely in Flamin’ Hot Cheetos and another covered in Funyuns—a surprisingly tasty twist on the classic roast. In 2021, a bacon-wrapped turkey inspired by a photo Stefani’s son spotted made the menu, with Shelton confirming, “We’re doing it.”
