Jamal Roberts Wins Season 23 of American Idol

American Idol recently wrapped up its 23rd season with an exciting three-hour finale. At the end of the night, it was revealed that father of three, Jamal Roberts, had taken home the win.

As the winner of the competition, Jamal received a recording contract and took home a cash prize. But that wasn’t the only thing he had earned.

Carrie Underwood, who served as a judge during Jamal’s journey on the show, honored him in a super sweet way. She revealed in an Instagram post that she named her newborn baby sheep after the Idol winner.

Underwood shared a carousel of photos showing the adorable new addition to her farm family.

In them, Carrie captures the lamb settling into its new home, including a cute moment of herself gently snuggling the newborn.

“Surprise! We’ve got another new life around the farm!” Underwood wrote in the caption. “This little guy happened to be born on the day of the @americanidol finale, so we figured it would only be right if we named him Jamal!!!”

She continued, “Mama and Baby J are doing well…and I’m popping by the barn to get snuggles every chance I get! Welcome to the world, little dude!”

The little lamb, now named Jamal, quickly captured the hearts of fans in the comments.

“Never in a MILLION years did Jamal Roberts dream that Carrie Underwood would name a lamb after him!! This takes dreams coming true to a WHOLE nother level!! Love it!!” one fans wrote.

“This is absolutely a perfect name,” another wrote.

“So stinkin’ cute! Yay Jamal!” said someone else.

If you know anything about Carrie Underwood’s life outside the spotlight, then you know how much her farm animals mean to her.

When she’s not performing on stage or judging on American Idol, the “Cowboy Casanova” singer enjoys living a quiet, down-to-earth life.

She spends much of her time caring for her animals, tending to her garden, and has even picked up the more recent hobby of crocheting her own clothes.
