Blake And Gwen Team Up Again!

Celebrity power couple Blake Shelton and Gwen Stefani have released another catchy duet together!

The singers, who have six previous collaborations, introduced fans to “Hangin’ On” this month, an upbeat country song with a pop twist.

Although the track offers a high-energy beat, the lyrics paint a breakup story, something Shelton admits his wife would not typically sing.

“She’s so funny because she’s weird about singing a song that’s like, she can’t find herself in the story or lyric or whatever,” Shelton said Tuesday (May 13) on TODAY with Jenna & Friends. “It’s a breakup song, but it’s just so fun to sing with her. I didn’t even want to record the song if she wasn’t gonna sing it with me.”

The song is part of Blake’s new album, For Recreational Use Only, which was released on May 9.

“I can’t believe it’s been four years since we released an album, and I’m excited to get the whole record out there,” Shelton said in a statement. “I’ve always been someone who wants to collect great songs but sometimes the hardest thing to do is to find something that hasn’t been said or written before or a melody that we haven’t heard. I’m always on the search for that. I look back over the years, and I’m just proud because some of those songs don’t sound like anything else. And I think we did it again with this album.”

Blake And Gwen’s Previous Collaborations

Blake and Gwen, who were married in 2021 during an intimate ceremony in Oklahoma, have given their fans quite the treat joining forces numerous times.

In February 2024, the couple took the stage together with their popular song, “Purple Irises,” during a performance before Super Bowl LVII.

“We all know how massive an event the Super Bowl is, and I am so honored I get to be a part of it and perform at the Super Bowl TikTok Tailgate,” Stefani said in a statement at the time.

The famous couple took the stage to deliver a remarkable performance in front of a massive Las Vegas audience. Stefani wrote “Purple Irises” while exploring new musical paths and despite their differing styles, Blake and Gwen both felt drawn to the song, sparking their impromptu duet.

Over the years, Shelton and Stefani released the following duets.

  • “Go Ahead and Break My Heart” (2016)
  • “You Make It Feel Like Christmas” (2017)
  • “Nobody but You” (2020)
  • “Happy Anywhere” (2020)
  • A cover of The Judds’ “Love Is Alive” (2023)
