“CAN’T YOU TELL I’M SO DISTRAUGHT OVER MY PIANO.” Morgan Wallen Flips Out On Stage In Denver Then Absolutely Roasts The Media For Calling It A Meltdown

Well, anything can go wrong during a live show, that’s for sure.

Over the weekend, Morgan Wallen made tons of headlines during his first night playing at Denver, Colorado’s at Empower Field at Mile High Stadium, after a bit of a technical issues, because when he got to the part where he plays the piano for “Sand In My Boots,” things went a bit awry. Apparently, he couldn’t hear it in his in-ear monitors, which means he couldn’t hear what he was playing at all. It seemed like the fans, at least according to comments I saw on some of the videos, could hear it, but obviously, it’s hard to play the instrument well if you can’t hear it… and Morgan had enough.

I’m sure his sound people tried their best to fix it, but this is live music, so Morgan decided to sing “Sand In My Boots” a cappella, and while the fans didn’t mind at all, I’m sure it’s frustrating as the artist putting on such a massive show, that people paid a hell of a lot of money for, for something like that to go wrong. This part of the show has become a fan-favorite because it’s one the more stripped-back, intimate moments, but the Denver crowd ended up getting something even more unique, so there’s that.

But Morgan seemed to take out some frustration on said piano during night one in Denver, as videos of him flipping it over went viral:

Naturally, tons of publications and losers on social media wrote headlines like “Morgan Wallen has a MELT DOWN over piano” and “Morgan Wallen loses his temper,” “FURIOUSLY flips…” when the reality is that it was far from anything of the sort. It was rather comical, and given that rock stars have been smashing guitars for decades, I’d hardly call it anything out out the ordinary when it comes to live music performances.

I never once thought he was actually upset and raining on stage over this keyboard, but people just love to hate him… and forego any common sense they posses in the process:

But for night two, which Morgan once again sold-out and had openers in Ella Langley, Gavin Adcock and Vincent Mason, he seemed to be on better terms with what I imagine is a different piano, joking with the crowd before he played “Sand In My Boots” for them that he was anxious to see if “this piano works tonight”:

“Let’s see if this piano works tonight.”

He had a good laugh himself after he said that, and from what I understand there were no more technical issues with the piano, so thankfully, it all went off without a hitch, or a flip, on Saturday night:

But he wasn’t done teasing about it just yet…

Morgan actually took to TikTok, which he really doesn’t post on a ton, to share a video that looks like it was taken backstage before night two, as he told fans through the camera that the piano was working just fine, though “what they told [him] last night too”:

“Hey, I just want you guys to know, that right now, this piano is working. And that’s what they told me last night, too.”

He seems to think it’s pretty funny here, so again, I don’t think he was “having a meltdown” or anything like that, and it seems to me Morgan thought it was all pretty funny, sharing the video with the caption:

“Can’t you tell I’m so distraught over my piano.”

Clearly, he wasn’t too worked up over it, and plenty of artists have done MUCH worse in terms of destroying instruments onstage…

Guess they better lock that piano down before he plays in Pittsburgh next weekend just in case, though…

“RANDY HAS BEEN MY PARTNER AND MY ROCK FOR 17 YEARS.” — LORRIE MORGAN JUST LOST HIM. Randy White passed away Sunday morning, June 1st, at 72. Mouth cancer — diagnosed in April 2024 — finally took him after 14 months. In April, Lorrie canceled all her shows just to stay beside him at a hospital in Middle Tennessee. She walked off every stage without a second thought. And what most people don’t realize is this wasn’t the first time Lorrie had to sit in that kind of silence. Together they built a blended family — her two kids, his four, 15 grandchildren, one great-grandchild. Seventeen years of all of that. Her stepson Jesse Keith Whitley wrote from the hospice room that Randy loved him and his sister “as we were his own.” Lorrie posted a photo of them backstage at the Grand Ole Opry with five words: “Ran-Ran, I will love and miss you forever.”
