Britain’s Got Talent viewers have expressed anger and confusion after fan-favourite duo Lucciano and his grandfather Frankie were unexpectedly left out of the live semi-finals, despite receiving a full set of four yeses from the judges during their audition.

The pair won over audiences with an emotional performance of One Direction’s “History,” a moment that quickly went viral and earned them widespread praise from both the studio crowd and viewers at home. However, despite the strong reaction, Lucciano and Frankie have now confirmed they will not be appearing in the final semi-final episode of the series.
Lucciano addressed the news directly on Instagram, sharing a stage photo from their audition and posting a heartfelt announcement.
“ANNOUNCEMENT [horn emojis]. NO SEMIFINAL FOR LUCCIANO & GRANDAD,” he wrote.

He highlighted the scale of their support, adding: “4 yeses from the judges, a viral social media explosion, the whole nation rooting for us, and over 50 MILLION views across all social platforms. Unfortunately!! We haven’t made it through to the semi-finals amongst such an incredible and talented group of acts on Series 19.”
Despite the disappointment, the young singer thanked viewers, judges, and the production team for what he described as a life-changing experience. He called surprising his grandfather “truly magical” and performing in front of Simon Cowell a “dream come true.”
He also paid tribute to the wider team behind the show, including presenters Ant McPartlin and Declan Donnelly, while hinting that the journey may not be over: “So… what’s next for Lucciano & Frankie? STAY TUNED.”
Frankie also responded in the comments, thanking Britain’s Got Talent for the opportunity and wishing luck to the remaining semi-finalists, adding: “We will be back.”

The reaction from fans was swift and emotional, with many questioning how the duo could be overlooked after such a strong audition. Social media quickly filled with posts calling the decision unfair and even suggesting a wildcard return.
“WHAT!!!!? Massive mistake, this duo is just what we all want,” one viewer wrote. Another added: “You are so talented, maybe next time!” while others said they had expected to see the pair in the semi-finals and were shocked by their absence.
Some viewers also pointed out that the selection process can be more complex than it appears on screen, with acts sometimes progressing based on producer decisions rather than audience expectations.
Despite the setback, Lucciano and Frankie’s audition continues to be one of the most talked-about moments of the series, with many fans still hoping the duo could return in a future wildcard twist
