Kyle Busch celebrated son Brexton’s 11th birthday just 3 days before sudden death
NASCAR legend Kyle Busch shared a heartfelt birthday message for his son Brexton, who turned 11, just three days before he tragically died
NASCAR icon Kyle Busch marked his son’s 11th birthday on Monday with a touching social media post, just three days before his tragic death.
Busch passed away on Thursday, aged 41, after being unexpectedly hospitalized with a serious illness. The circumstances forced him to pull out of Sunday’s Cup Series race at Charlotte Motor Speedway, but he died hours after the withdrawal was announced.
The NASCAR star had secured his second Truck Series victory of the season on Friday and celebrated Brexton Busch’s birthday on Monday. Brexton is a passionate motorsports enthusiast and has accompanied his father to NASCAR races throughout the country. It comes after Busch’s eerie words following his win six days before his death emerged.
Brexton celebrated his 11th birthday on Monday, and his father posted pictures of the birthday festivities on social media. “Happy Birthday @brextonbusch!!! Your mom & I are so proud of who you’re turning out to be!”, he posted on X, reports the Express US.
“You’re the best kid on & off the track, you amaze us every day. Keep doing what you’re doing and there is no limit to what you’ll accomplish! Love you buddy!”
Brexton also published a birthday post featuring photos of friends at the Busch home celebrating. “11!! Thank you to all of my friends and family for celebrating with me at home!! Fun evening swimming and playing football, my team won on a Pick-6!”
He posted on X. Brexton Busch has followed in his father’s footsteps, embarking on a racing career of his own and claiming the Golden Driller title at last year’s Tulsa Shootout. He traveled across the United States alongside Kyle, gaining invaluable NASCAR exposure along the way.
Having established himself as a standout prospect in dirt racing, Brexton harbors ambitions of reaching the same NASCAR heights as his father. Kyle consistently celebrated his son’s achievements, regularly sharing photos and videos of his racing milestones on social media.
Kyle Busch revealed to DIVEBOMB last year that his son has a clear roadmap to the Cup Series. “As Brexton moves up, he wants to race in NASCAR, so that’s sort of the game,” he said.
“He wants to get into legends cars, late models and all the way up to the Cup Series, so we’ll see how he ends up. He’s obviously talented enough at it and does a good job where he could certainly get to that point, so it would be exciting to see him reach his goals and get all the way to the top.”
The motorsports world has been left reeling by Busch’s passing, with NASCAR releasing a statement saying, “We are saddened and heartbroken to share the news of the passing of Kyle Busch, a two-time Cup champion and one of our sport’s greatest and fiercest drivers.
“He was 41 years old. We extend our deepest condolences to the Busch family, Richard Childress Racing and the entire motorsports community.”
