Breanna Nix Stuns American Idol With Her Powerful Performance, Even Carrie Underwood Couldn’t Hold Back Tears

Breanna Nix Shines in Hawaii With Soul-Stirring Christian Anthem

On Sunday night’s (April 13) episode of American Idol, rising star Breanna Nix took center stage at Aulani, A Disney Resort & Spa in Hawaii, as part of the show’s Top 24 showcase — and gave fans a performance they’ll never forget.

Covering the emotional Christian hit “Still Rolling Stones” by Lauren Daigle, Breanna once again leaned on her faith, passion, and powerhouse vocals to deliver a moment of pure musical magic.

💫 From Auditions to Aulani: Breanna’s Journey to the Top 24

Breanna first touched viewers’ hearts during her Season 23 audition, where she was joined by her husband Austin and their adorable son Emerson.
As Austin played piano, little Emerson sat with Carrie Underwood, slowly drifting off to sleep as Breanna beautifully performed “Jesus, Take the Wheel.”

It was a raw, emotional moment — one that moved Carrie to tears.

That day, Breanna received three yeses and a Golden Ticket to Hollywood.

She stunned again in the Showstoppers round with a Kelly Clarkson cover that gave Luke Bryan “full body chills.”
In the next round, she joined IAMKNOWN to perform “Gratitude” by Brandon Lake — a Christian duet that prompted Carrie to deliver heartfelt praise:

“It is a brave thing to come into the entertainment industry and bring your faith with you. I want to tell you — I’m proud of you guys.”

That faith-driven performance helped Breanna secure her spot in the Top 24, leading to her standout moment in Hawaii.

🙌 “Still Rolling Stones” — A Performance That Stopped the Show

For her Hawaii set, Breanna chose to cover Lauren Daigle’s “Still Rolling Stones” — a track that soared to the top of Christian music charts and continues to inspire millions.

With the ocean breeze behind her and the support of a small crowd, Breanna poured her soul into every note. Her voice roared with strength and conviction, bringing the judges to their feet mid-performance.

The energy was electric, the atmosphere spiritual.

🎙️ Judges React: “You Owned That Moment”

After her incredible performance, the American Idol judges didn’t hold back their praise:

Carrie Underwood said:

“Breanna, that first note was like a growl — you said, ‘I’m here!’ That was amazing. So much power and heart behind every word.”

Luke Bryan added:

“That was the perfect song choice. The confidence, the power — it reminded me of Adele in her zone. You completely owned that moment from start to finish.”

Lionel Richie even called for the crowd to shout “Amen!” before telling Breanna:

“You’re leading this competition with your faith. You came out, put your foot down, and absolutely killed it.”
