“IF SHE CAN’T STAND… SHE WILL STILL SING”: Celine Dion RETURNS TO THE STAGE AFTER 6 YEARS – EVEN IF SITTING! After a six-year hiatus due to a rare disease, Celine Dion officially returns with 10 shows in Paris (capacity up to 45,000 people/night) — but this return may leave the world speechless: she may have to sing while sitting due to painful spasms. Despite strict health limitations and constant medical checks, Celine is determined to return at all costs — just as she once said: “If I can’t walk, I’ll crawl… but I have to come back.” This is no longer a normal comeback — it’s a battle to be able to stand (or sit) on stage again… and sing until the very last second.

CELINE Dion will today confirm her return to live shows — but she may have to sing while seated due to illness.

The star has not done a full gig for six years due to a rare neurological disorder but has told of her determination to return.

My Heart Will Go On singer Celine has Stiff-Person Syndrome which causes muscle rigidity and violent spasms and is believed to be a cause for concern for insurers.

But today, her 58th birthday, Celine will announce a residency in Paris in the autumn.

The Canadian will do an initial ten-show run — two a week — at the 45,000-capacity La Defense Arena but health concerns mean she may have to perform in a chair.

A source said: “To insure the gigs, Celine and team have agreed to non-negotiable terms including a performance limit and regular medical checks right up until the final show.”

Celine’s last full gig was in March 2020 and since then she has appeared only briefly at the Paris Olympics opening ceremony and a fashion show, both in 2024.

That year, in Prime documentary I Am: Celine Dion, she spoke of her yearning to return to the stage.

She said: “If I can’t run, I’ll walk. If I can’t walk, I’ll crawl. I miss it so much.”

Other to perform seated due to ailments include Ozzy Osbourne, who was perched on a throne for Black Sabbath’s farewell gig last summer and Phil Collins, 75, in 2021, during the last tour by Genesis
