Back in 2012, country singer\u00a0Blake Shelton\u00a0teamed up with his mother, Dorothy Shackleford, for a duet of the Christmas song \u201cTime for Me to Come Home\u201d off Shelton\u2019s 2013 holiday album,\u00a0Cheers, It\u2019s Christmas.<\/p>\n

Interestingly, the song was written by the mother and son tandem. \u201cBlake was writing the song for his Christmas album and said he needed help with the second verse,\u201d Shackleford recalled. \u201cSo I came up with the second verse, and that\u2019s how the song was born.\u201d<\/p>\n

Shelton revealed that his mom, a beauty shop owner, did not need much persuading to help him out on the album. In fact, she was really excited that they will be writing a song together \u201cbecause she\u2019s always coming up with song ideas.\u201d<\/p>\n

And since \u201cTime for Me to Come Home\u201d is also more or less \u201cabout the relationship between a kid and his mom,\u201d Shelton asked her mom to sing the song with him.<\/p>\n

\u201cThat thrilled me, but at the same time, it made me very nervous because I\u2019m not a great singer,\u201d Shackleford admitted. \u201cI just about passed out \u2026 but somehow I got through it.\u201d<\/p>\n
