Miranda Lambert & Lukas Nelson Remember Kris Kristofferson<\/h2>\n

Like\u00a0many country artists, Miranda Lambert and Lukas Nelson were devastated to hear that Kris Kristofferson\u00a0passed away\u00a0on September 28. The legendary country singer, songwriter, and actor was 88 years old.<\/p>\n

As the son of Willie Nelson,\u00a0one of Kris\u2019 best friends, Lukas knew Kris his whole life.\u00a0After Kris died, Lukas said that other than his own father, no musician inspired him more than Kris.<\/strong><\/p>\n

\u201cOther than my father, he was my greatest inspiration<\/em>,\u201d Lukas said on social media alongside a photo of him and Kris when they met for the first time. He continued, \u201cHe embodied humility and kindness<\/em>\u00a0and carried his grace into his words and music with unique eloquence. He was a great among greats. One of the coolest men in music.<\/em>\u201c<\/p><\/blockquote>\n

Lukas later honored Kris by sharing a video of himself\u00a0covering his song \u201cLoving Her Was Easier.\u201d<\/p>\n

Miranda Lambert was another one of Kris\u2019 friends in the country music industry. The two\u00a0Texas natives\u00a0had a mutual respect for each other.<\/p>\n

Miranda Lambert & Kris Kristofferson Sang \u201cSilver Wings\u201d Together Years Ago<\/h3>\n

Miranda got the chance to sing with Kris during the Kennedy Center Honors ceremony in 2010. They joined forces to recognize\u00a0Kris\u2019 longtime friend, Merle Haggard, who was one of the honorees.<\/p>\n

Kris and Miranda sang Merle\u2019s \u201cSilver Wings\u201d during the ceremony.<\/strong>\u00a0Their performance was stunning and surely touched Merle, who was watching in the audience.<\/p>\n

Merle passed away just six years later, on his birthday in 2016.<\/p>\n
