Strictly Come Dancing\u00a0star Vito Coppola has shared the secret way he supports his partner\u00a0Ellie Goldstein\u00a0behind the scenes.<\/p>\n

23-year-old Ellie has won over audiences with the delightful passion she displays during her routines with the Italian professional this series.<\/p>\n

During their appearance on Wednesday\u2019s (October 29)\u00a0This Morning, Ellie and Vito chatted with Alison Hammond and Dermot O\u2019Leary about their preparation for the live shows. Vito also detailed how he helps Ellie soothe her anxiety before they emerge beneath the sparkling Strictly spotlights.<\/p>\n

Dermot enquired: \u201cWhen you\u2019re nervous, what does Vito do to calm you down?\u201d<\/p>\n

Ellie responded endearingly: \u201cRight so you do, \u2018Alright, alright, calm down, calm down, I\u2019m here baby I\u2019m here,’\u201d reports\u00a0the Mirror.<\/p>\n

Vito then prompted Ellie about the particular phrase he reserves for her, continuing: \u201cWhat do I always say to you? Remember that you\u2019re what?\u201d<\/p>\n

Ellie beamed: \u201cMy big brother is always by my side, and it\u2019s always going to be okay. What you do to me is so lovely. When I watch back I cry.\u201d<\/p>\n

Vito embraced her and commented comfortingly: \u201cBut they are happy tears.\u201d<\/p>\n

Ellie proceeded to tell him: \u201cYou bring me joy and happiness. When I see you come in a room I\u2019m like, \u2018Vito I love you!’\u201d to which the professional dancer responded warmly, \u201cI love you too, sister.\u201d<\/p>\n

On the anxiety Ellie faces before the live show, Vito continued: \u201cYou don\u2019t really get used to it, you know. I always like to find the key \u2013 take deep breaths, and I always tell Ellie that your brother is always by your side. There\u2019s nothing to be scared of.<\/p>\n

\u201cWe did this so many times, and even when you start on your own, don\u2019t be afraid because you can\u2019t see me \u2013 I\u2019m behind you, but you can hear me. So, I keep talking to you.\u201d<\/p>\n

Beyond providing emotional support, Vito has also modified his Strictly coaching techniques to suit Ellie\u2019s requirements.<\/p>\n

Given that she learns through visual methods, he positions life-sized cardboard figures of the programme\u2019s panel and presenters throughout the practice studio to help her become accustomed to the ballroom environment.<\/p>\n

He also employs a whiteboard to chart the dance sequences with detailed illustrations and playful icons \u2013 including pursed lips indicating when Ellie should strike a pose, and a flower representing open-armed gestures.<\/p>\n

Vito\u2019s approach appears to be proving successful as Ellie has continued to impress the judges with her routines.<\/p>\n

For Icons Week, Ellie and Vito placed in seventh position on the Strictly leaderboard, level with Karen Carney and Balvinder Sopal, who also accumulated 28 points.<\/p>\n
