A NEW BABY BOY FOR THE MCCREERY FAMILY<\/h2>\n

On September 18, Scotty and Gabi became parents of two with the arrival of baby\u00a0Oliver McCreery<\/strong>. The former\u00a0American Idol<\/em>\u00a0winner admitted that the past few days have been both joyful and overwhelming.<\/p>\n

Speaking on the\u00a0Big D & Bubba<\/em>\u00a0radio show, Scotty said:\u00a0\u201cIt\u2019s been a whirlwind the last few days.\u201d<\/em>When asked if he has been able to get any sleep, McCreery explained that while he tells his wife to wake him if she needs help, there\u2019s one task he simply can\u2019t do.<\/p>\n

Now a father of two, McCreery described the change in family dynamics.\u00a0\u201cWe\u2019ve gone from zone defense to man-to-man, so we\u2019re all over the house,\u201d<\/em>\u00a0he said, adding that while he and Gabi aren\u2019t ruling out more children, for now, they are focused on adjusting to life with Oliver and catching up on sleep.<\/p>\n

Even while celebrating new fatherhood, McCreery is also marking a major professional achievement. His single\u00a0\u201cBottle Rockets,\u201d featuring Hootie & the Blowfish<\/strong>, recently soared to No. 1 on\u00a0Billboard\u2019s Country Airplay chart<\/em>.<\/p>\n

The collaboration, built around Hootie\u2019s 1995 hit\u00a0\u201cHold My Hand,\u201d<\/em>\u00a0credits 11 writers including McCreery, Darius Rucker, and producer Frank Rogers. According to Luminate, the song gained 14% in audience impressions, reaching 30.5 million between Sept. 19-25.<\/p>\n

This milestone places Rucker in rare company with Tyler Hubbard as the only artists to top Country Airplay both solo and as part of a group. It also marks another success for McCreery\u2019s label,\u00a0Triple Tigers<\/strong>, which now boasts back-to-back Country Airplay No. 1 hits.<\/p>\n
