A teenager once beloved by millions through his appearances on\u00a0The Ellen DeGeneres Show<\/em>\u00a0has passed away after a long and courageous battle with illness.<\/p>\n

Tayt Anderson, who captured hearts with his humor, smile, and quiet strength, died on September 26 at just 19 years old.<\/p>\n

A Life Against the Odds<\/h2>\n

Tayt was born with only the right side of his heart. By the age of nine, he had endured 12 surgeries. Doctors had once told his parents he wouldn\u2019t live past three months.<\/p>\n

At 10, he received a heart transplant\u2014a gift that extended his life but led to further complications, including post-transplant lymphoma during his teen years.<\/p>\n

In 2024, he was diagnosed with bladder cancer at just 18. Despite aggressive treatments, the cancer spread rapidly to his pelvis, spine, abdomen, chest, and neck. By summer 2025, doctors gave him only four months to live.<\/p>\n

He made it three.<\/p>\n

His Family\u2019s Tribute<\/h2>\n

In announcing his passing, Tayt\u2019s family wrote:<\/p>\n

\u201cWhile our souls feel shattered and lost by this unimaginable grief, we are so thankful that Tayt is finally free. No more pain, no more appointments, no more treatments. Tayt was loved by so many, and he impacted countless lives with his incredible smile, his quiet strength, his kindness, and his beautiful love.\u201d<\/em><\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n

A Bond with Ellen<\/h2>\n

Tayt first appeared on\u00a0The Ellen DeGeneres Show<\/em>\u00a0in 2013, when Ellen learned that the then seven-year-old referred to her as his \u201cgirlfriend.\u201d She responded warmly, calling him her \u201conly boyfriend.\u201d<\/p>\n

His mother, Chrissy Becker, shared how much Ellen\u2019s show lifted Tayt\u2019s spirits during grueling hospital visits. Doctors and nurses even learned to time their rounds around Ellen\u2019s airtime because Tayt insisted on watching without interruption.<\/p>\n
