Dolly Parton is always present when new rides and attractions are announced at Dollywood, but she was noticeably absent from this announcement. Dollywood President Eugene Naughton told the audience that Parton is \u201csorry she couldn\u2019t be here. She\u2019s a little under the weather, but let me let her tell you in her own voice.\u201d<\/p>\n
In a video of the presentation which was shared by\u00a0WATE<\/a>\u00a0news, he pointed to the screen above the stage, and Parton spoke to the audience in a prerecorded message in which she addressed why she was not at Dollywood. She said, \u201cHello Dollywood! It\u2019s me! I know, I\u2019m here and you\u2019re there and wondering why that is.\u201d She explained, \u201cI had a little problem. I had a kidney stone. Turns out there was an infection, and the doctor said: \u2018You don\u2019t need to be traveling around this minute\u2026 You need a few days to feel better.\u2019 So he suggested I not go to Dollywood today.\u201d<\/p>\n Even though she couldn\u2019t be at Dollywood in person, Parton reassured her fans that she\u2019s \u201cgoing to be okay. Just can\u2019t do it today.\u201d<\/p>\n She also expressed excitement about the new ride that was announced for Dollywood. She explained that she was \u201cso looking forward to\u201d being there for the ride announcement because it has been in the works for 3 years.
