\u201cDorothy\u201d is set to be a contemporary young adult retelling of L. Frank Baum\u2019s \u201cWizard of Oz\u201d books, produced by Gina Matthews, best known for \u201c13 Going on 30.\u201d This new series, destined for Amazon, promises to weave music and modern emotion into the iconic journey down the Yellow Brick Road \u2014 a metaphor, this time, for the real-world challenges young people face today.<\/p>\n

\u201cWe\u2019re really excited about all the possibilities this show brings, and I\u2019m so grateful that Gina shared the idea with me and Lee,\u201d Shelton said. \u201cI knew right away it was something Gwen would connect with.
