Swept Off the Road \u2014 And Almost Forgotten<\/h3>\n

The group \u2014\u00a0Bryar Blanton, Lenyell Blanton, Josh Turner, and Adrian Poplin<\/strong>\u00a0\u2014 had been off-roading near the\u00a0Guadalupe River<\/strong>\u00a0when a sudden downpour caused a\u00a0flash flood and massive mudslide<\/strong>, trapping their vehicle near a creek swollen with debris and runoff.<\/p>\n

\u201cWe were out by the ridge checking flood damage,\u201d said Bryar. \u201cThen the road started cracking. We slid into this mud patch and the truck sank like a rock.\u201d<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n

With no cell signal, and the sun going down, the teens\u00a0walked several miles in soaking clothes<\/strong>, trying to flag down anyone who might help.<\/p>\n

\u201cThen we saw this pickup truck with a camo bumper and a hound dog in the seat,\u201d Adrian said. \u201cWe waved like crazy.\u201d<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n

The driver?<\/p>\n

\u201cIt was Blake Shelton. We couldn\u2019t believe it.\u201d<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n

According to the teens, Shelton rolled down his window and calmly asked, \u201cY\u2019all stuck?\u201d
When they nodded, he just said,\u00a0\u201cHop in. Let\u2019s go get your buddies.\u201d<\/strong><\/p>\n

Blake first tried to pull the stranded truck out with his pickup, but the mud was too deep.<\/p>\n

\u201cHe didn\u2019t even blink,\u201d Bryar recalled. \u201cHe just said,\u00a0\u2018I\u2019ll be back in 15 minutes with my tractor.\u2019<\/em>\u00a0And he\u00a0actually<\/em>\u00a0came back. Who does that?\u201d<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n

True to his word, Shelton returned, tractor in tow, and helped winch the vehicle out of the muck \u2014 soaking wet and muddy himself by the end of it.<\/p>\n

\u201cHe wasn\u2019t there for the cameras,\u201d Lenyell said. \u201cHe was just a good dude helping some dumb country kids who got in over their heads.\u201d<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n

A Real-Life Hero with Mud on His Boots<\/h3>\n

This isn\u2019t Blake Shelton\u2019s first rescue.
Back in 2015, he famously helped a man stranded in Oklahoma floodwaters during\u00a0Tropical Storm Bill<\/strong>.
But this latest act of kindness comes amid the\u00a0deadliest flooding to hit Texas in over a decade<\/strong>, which has claimed\u00a0over 100 lives<\/strong>\u00a0and displaced hundreds of families across\u00a0Kerr County and beyond<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

\u201cHe Talked About Life, His Brother, and Told Us to Stay Outta Trouble\u201d<\/h3>\n

Before heading off, Shelton shared a moment with the group,\u00a0talking about his late brother Richie<\/strong>, who died in a car accident when Blake was 14.<\/p>\n
