Six days after the release of his latest album\u00a0Higher<\/em>, the 46-year-old singer appeared on\u00a0The Kelly Clarkson Show\u00a0<\/em>Tuesday (March 29) to talk about making music and living life with his family \u2014 two things that frequently overlap for him. For instance, the music video for one of the album\u2019s singles \u201cI\u2019ll Never Not Love You\u201d starred his whole family and also served as his and wife Luisana Lopilato\u2019s fourth\u00a0pregnancy announcement.<\/p>\n

That announcement looked a lot different at home. The couple told their three kids about the new baby on Christmas Eve, but instead of earning excited reactions, the news made his son Eli quite upset. \u201cWhy didn\u2019t you invite me when you fell in love and made the baby?\u201d the 5-year-old demanded.<\/p>\n

\u201cI still don\u2019t know how to answer that,\u201d Bubl\u00e9 laughed.<\/p>\n

The Canadian artist also revealed what it\u2019s like when the family visits Lopilato\u2019s home country of Argentina, where Bubl\u00e9 says she\u2019s a huge \u201cmovie star.\u201d \u201cI\u2019m the set b\u2014h,\u201d he explained of what he does when his wife\u2019s working on movie sets. \u201cI show up, I bring the stuff, I get the trailer all ready, maybe a little massage and take care of the kids.\u201d<\/p>\n

He then jokingly impersonated the commands he hears when helping out on set. \u201cSet b\u2014h, get me some water! \u201cTengo sed!\u201d<\/p>\n

When asked about making his new album, Bubl\u00e9 described his phone call with Paul McCartney where the former Beatle said he\u2019d lend his production skills to the project. \u201cI just pooped my pants,\u201d he said he told McCartney.<\/p>\n

He also said that the record\u2019s title track was written by his oldest son, 8-year-old Noah. \u201cI was giving the kids a shower and doing the shampoo and stuff, and he said \u2018Papi, I wrote a song.\u2019\u201d Bubl\u00e9 explained. \u201cI said \u2018This is good,\u2019 and then I thought, \u2018Did you hear that on YouTube?\u2019\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cI freaked out,\u2019\u201d he continued. \u201cHe said, \u2018No no, I wrote it!\u201d<\/p>\n

Bubl\u00e9 also talked about his son\u2019s lyrical contribution to the album in an interview with Billboard\u2018s Pop Shop Podcast, saying, \u201cWithin about 35 minutes, I had turned an idea that had come from the head of an 8-year-old kid into one of the great songs that I\u2019ve ever written.\u201d<\/p>\n

Higher\u00a0<\/em>is a triumph for the vocalist, as it follows a lot of hardship experienced by Bubl\u00e9 and his family. Noah was diagnosed with liver cancer in 2016 \u2014 though he has since been declared cancer free.<\/p>\n

\u201cI came out of, I would say, a bit of a rough decade,\u201d Bubl\u00e9 told Clarkson. \u201cThe family\u2019s been through a lot. There were points where I don\u2019t know how I survived. To have had this come together \u2014 I can\u2019t believe it\u2019s happening.\u201d<\/p>\n
