Michael Bubl\u00e9\u00a0is opening up about a difficult period in his life on\u00a0The Voice<\/em>.<\/p>\n

As he prepped contestants Aliyah Khaylyn and Sofronio Vasquez for their battle round on Tuesday, Oct. 29, the Canadian crooner wore his heart on his sleeve as he detailed the meaningful story behind his song \u201cForever Now.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cI have a question. What is an original that was very vulnerable for you to release?\u201d Khaylyn asked Bubl\u00e9, 49.<\/p>\n

\u201cI wrote a song about my kids,\u201d he responded. \u201cTruthfully, I labored releasing it because my son had gone through a\u00a0pretty public health battle\u00a0and it\u2019s one of those songs where I didn\u2019t think I\u2019d ever sing it live.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cAnd then my son was OK and I started to find the strength to do it live,\u201d he continued, referencing his son\u00a0Noah\u2019s liver cancer\u00a0diagnosis. \u201cThe first times I did it I was a mess, and then the more I did it the more therapeutic it was.\u201d<\/p>\n

Bubl\u00e9 then said that song was \u201cForever Now\u201d and to him it means, \u201cno matter what you do I\u2019m forever proud of you and I\u2019ll love you forever now.\u201d<\/p>\n

Khaylyn and Vasquez were both touched by his confession.<\/p>\n

\u201cFor Michael to share that, I\u2019m very appreciative. He\u2019s ready to help. Especially as an artist but as a human being the connection is there. I really love that,\u201d Vasquez said in a sit-down interview.<\/p>\n

During an appearance on the\u00a0Diary of a CEO<\/em>\u00a0podcast last December, the \u201cSway\u201d singer said his son\u2019s diagnosis \u201crocked my world.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cAnd that was a sledgehammer to my reality. And I will never be carefree and that\u2019s okay. It is a privilege for me to exist and that pain, the fear, the suffering that comes with those sort of things is I guess it\u2019s part of that beautiful, this life,\u201d he told host Steven Bartlett.<\/p>\n

Bubl\u00e9\u2019s son Noah was\u00a0diagnosed with liver cancer\u00a0in 2016 at age 3 and he\u2019s\u00a0been in remission since 2017.<\/p>\n

In 2021, Bubl\u00e9 opened up to PEOPLE about how the diagnosis\u00a0changed him, saying, \u201cI live a much deeper life now.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cI don\u2019t wish that kind of pain upon any human being, but I do feel that when you\u2019ve truly suffered, when you\u2019ve truly felt fear and loss, it allows you to live a deeper life,\u201d said Bubl\u00e9. \u201cOnce you\u2019ve felt those things, you are able, in context, to truly feel joy, gratitude and happiness.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cMy grandpa used to say, \u2018Today\u2019s curse is tomorrow\u2019s blessing,\u2019 \u201d he continued. \u201cEven though for some of us who have lost so much these last few years, whether it\u2019s our jobs or our loved ones, it doesn\u2019t all come with negative connotations. There\u2019s always a silver lining to that cloud.\u201d<\/p>\n
