Blake Shelton\u00a0is speaking out after fans criticized the American Music Awards for airing pre-taped performances without telling the live audience that some artists wouldn\u2019t appear in person.<\/p>\n

On Monday, May 26, the country star performed his latest song, \u201cStay Country or Die Tryin\u2019,\u201d during the elite award show and later returned to the stage to introduce his wife,\u00a0Gwen Stefani. Her delivery included a medley of her hits like \u201cThe Sweet Escape\u201d and \u201cHollaback Girl\u201d as well as her recent single, \u201cSwallow My Tears.\u201d<\/p>\n

While they appeared to be live performances for viewers watching at home, fans attending the show at the Fontainebleau Las Vegas quickly learned that their performances were actually pre-taped \u2014 as were several other appearances throughout the night.<\/p>\n
