I don\u2019t think I had my priorities straight. My family was always a love \u2013 I don\u2019t think I was a terrible guy but it was blinders \u2013 career, ambition, how do I become the baddest, biggest, best? More ego, more power.\u2019<\/p>\n Michael said he felt like he was living with a \u2018curtain\u2019 in front of him before his son Noah\u2019s cancer diagnosis, when he made a promise to himself to abandon his \u2018ego\u2019.<\/p>\n \u2018It\u2019s like life was lived with like a curtain in front of me, like a filter and the moment that they said \u201cthis is what\u2019s happening\u201d, that reality hit me \u2013 filter gone, in a moment,\u2019 he went on.<\/p>\n \u2018I went OK, this is it, this is life, that is what\u2019s important. It\u2019s not like I thought about it, I didn\u2019t, there was no time to process it.\u2019<\/p>\n \u2018I remember closing my eyes and saying to myself, if we get out of this I\u2019m living a different life, a better life.
