On Sunday, May 24, the Coca-Cola 600 at Charlotte Motor Speedway in Concord, North Carolina, was held.<\/p>\n

Absent from the race was one of\u00a0NASCAR\u2018s greats, the late Kyle Busch.<\/p>\n

<\/div>\n

At the age of 41,\u00a0Kyle died on May 21, leaving behind his wife, Samantha; and their two children, Brexton (age 11) and Lennix (age 4).<\/p>\n

The loss of Kyle was foregrounded at the race, with NASCAR fans, drivers, and management taking a moment to honor the two-time champion\u2019s legacy.<\/p>\n

Even Brad Paisley dedicated his pre-race concert performance of \u201cWhen I Get Where I\u2019m Going\u201d to Kyle, which can be seen below\u2026<\/p>\n

A Moment Of Silence For Kyle Busch<\/h2>\n

\u201cKyle Busch is NASCAR,\u201d<\/em>\u00a0said Steve O\u2019Donnell, CEO of NASCAR, as he stood with Samantha and Brexton Busch at the sideline of the Coca-Cola 600.<\/p>\n

Prior to that powerful statement, O\u2019Donnell said,\u00a0\u201cEvery racetrack was Kyle Busch\u2019s home.\u201d<\/em><\/p>\n

Further, he said:<\/p>\n

\u201cHe competed like he had something to prove, every single race, when \u2014 in reality \u2014 he had already proven everything. What I think we\u2019ll miss the most isn\u2019t the wins, it\u2019s the guy who quietly wanted to help a teammate, to give some advice, who\u2019s the husband, the father, or the guy who quietly did things for others when no one was watching.\u201d<\/p><\/blockquote>\n

He then turned to Samantha and Brexton, and said to thunderous applause,\u00a0\u201cSamantha, I want you to know that this sport stands with you, and that you and your children are NASCAR family forever.\u201d<\/em><\/p>\n

Samantha and Brexton then embraced one another.<\/p>\n

O\u2019Donnell then stated,\u00a0\u201cBrexton and Lennix, your dad loved you with all his heart. Everyone gathered here, everyone behind you, everybody watching on TV, and all those people up in that grandstand are your family and we\u2019ve got you.\u201d<\/em><\/p>\n
