And while Hannah joked that she just wanted \u201ca nap,\u201d supporters are now focused on something much bigger \u2014 the first signs of what her post-Idol<\/em>\u00a0era could actually become.<\/p>\n

inutes before the voting results were revealed as the three-hour\u00a0\u201cAmerican Idol\u201d\u00a0finale came to a close on May 11, 2026, host\u00a0Ryan Seacrest\u00a0asked finalist\u00a0Hannah Harper, 25, what she was looking forward to doing most after the season concluded. Her answer? \u201cTake a nap.\u201d<\/p>\n

That nap might have to wait, given that the mom of three boys was named the season 24 winner moments later, with a jam-packed schedule and bright future ahead of her. So, what\u2019s next for Hannah Harper?<\/p>\n

Hannah Harper Heads to New York City for Media Appearances<\/h2>\n

Harper will have little chance to rest, as ABC flies her from Hollywood to New York City today to make press appearances on May 13, starting with \u201cGood Morning America.\u201d She\u2019ll then head to\u00a0\u201cLive With Kelly and Mark\u201d to perform on that morning show.<\/p>\n

But she won\u2019t be alone; runner-up Jordan McCullough is also heading to New York, and will record his own performance on \u201cLive With Kelly and Mark,\u201d which is scheduled to air on Friday, May 15.<\/p>\n

Hannah Harper is Going On Tour & Will Meet With Record Label Execs<\/h2>\n

\nHarper also has to navigate her future as an artist, including meeting with the record label partner of \u201cAmerican Idol,\u201d 19 Recordings. While a record deal is no longer guaranteed to winners of the show, they get a rare opportunity to work with the label\u2019s creative team to develop their sound, make high-profile appearances, release singles, and potentially sign a long-term deal with the label.<\/p>\n

Jamal Roberts,\u00a0who won in 2025, has released multiple new songs with the label, including his latest,\u00a0\u201cPerfect For Me,\u201d\u00a0which he performed on the show this season.<\/p>\n

Harper already had a following before auditioning for \u201cAmerican Idol,\u201d writing and recording original country music, including \u201cString Cheese,\u201d the\u00a0inspiring motherhood song\u00a0that\u2019s gone viral since she sang it for her audition.<\/p>\n

So, even before winning the show, she decided to capitalize on her newfound fame by\u00a0planning a tour, playing primarily in smaller towns on summer weekends, beginning on June 5 and 6 at two venues in Arkansas. Typically, \u201cAmerican Idol\u201d hosts a reunion show at CMA Fest in Nashville that weekend, so it\u2019s possible Harper will need to rearrange her schedule for that, especially since her goal is to be a country artist.<\/p>\n

Hannah Harper Looks Forward to Incorporating What She\u2019s Learned Into Her New Music<\/h2>\n

During her hometown visit to Willow Springs before the finale, Harper told local radio host Sara Forhetz that competing on \u201cAmerican Idol,\u201d she realized how \u201csheltered\u201d she\u2019d been from different music genres and artists.<\/p>\n

\u201cThey were, like, throwing different artists and songs at us and I was like, \u2018Wow, I\u2019ve never heard of \u2019em,\u2019\u201d she said. \u201cSo Pat Benatar, for example, she was my mentor for Rock & Roll Hall of Fame. I had never heard that name before! But it was almost like I had an advantage because I got to meet her in a simpler setting of getting to know who she was (as a person), not as who she was as an artist.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cI have educated myself on a lot of different genres because of the competition,\u201d Harper continued, \u201cand it\u2019s opened my mind up to different songwriting styles as well as instrumentally different things I can incorporate for myself long-term.
