Leavitt posted the pictures just days after welcoming baby Viviana, nicknamed Vivi, on May 1, 2026.<\/p>\n

Leavitt and her husband,\u00a0Nicholas Riccio, 60, welcomed the baby girl earlier this month.<\/p>\n

The press secretary said her daughter was born healthy and that her family was enjoying its \u201cnewborn bubble.\u201d<\/p>\n

The Mother\u2019s Day post came less than two weeks after Vivi\u2019s arrival.<\/p>\n

It marked Leavitt\u2019s first holiday as a mom to both her son and newborn daughter.<\/p>\n

Leavitt had announced her pregnancy in December 2025.<\/p>\n

At the time, she described her\u00a0baby girl\u00a0as \u201cthe greatest Christmas gift.\u201d<\/p>\n

Leavitt is the youngest person to serve as White House press secretary.<\/p>\n

She has not confirmed how much time she will take away from the podium.<\/p>\n

The press secretary said she was \u201cextremely grateful\u201d to President Donald Trump and Chief of Staff Susie Wiles \u201cfor fostering a pro-family environment in the White House.\u201d<\/p>\n

Leavitt was forced to delay her maternity leave after another alleged attempt on Trump\u2019s life brought her back to the office for a press briefing.<\/p>\n

She previously returned to work on Trump\u2019s campaign just three days after giving birth to Niko.<\/p>\n

That came after Trump was nicked by a bullet during the first harrowing near-miss\u00a0assassination attempt.<\/p>\n

Her deputy\u00a0Anna Kelly\u00a0is expected to cover some duties while Leavitt spends time at home.<\/p>\n

Kelly is a former beauty queen who has worked on communications teams for several Republican campaigns.<\/p>\n

No official replacement has been announced.<\/p>\n

Assistant press secretaries Taylor Rogers and Liz Huston could also take to the podium while Leavitt is away.<\/p>\n

Leavitt, who is from New Hampshire, threw a baby shower in March.<\/p>\n
