Things are heating up for\u00a0Riley Green<\/strong>\u00a0on\u00a0Marshals.<\/em><\/p>\n He\u00a0made his acting debut on the\u00a0Yellowstone<\/em>\u00a0spinoff\u00a0Marshals\u00a0<\/em>a couple weeks ago as Garrett, a former Navy SEAL teammate of Kayce Dutton\u2019s (Luke Grimes), who arrives at the ranch, unexpectedly, hoping to lean on his friends Kayce Dutton (Luke Grimes) and Cal (Logan Marshall-Green) to help \u201cput the demons of his past to rest.\u201d<\/p>\n Grimes said in a previous interview that it wasn\u2019t just as easy as snapping his fingers to get Riley a part on the show\u2026 Grimes had the idea to get Riley on during a songwriting session when Riley talked about his interest in acting, and Grimes says a lightbulb went off and he wanted to get him on\u00a0Marshals<\/em>. He spoke with showrunner Spencer Hudnut, who loved the idea, so they wrote Riley in since this was all happening\u00a0as the show was starting to come together.<\/p>\n But Luke revealed during a radio interview with Bev Rainey for her\u00a0Country Nights Live with Bev Rainey<\/em>\u00a0radio show that network executives didn\u2019t know \u201chow big of a deal Riley is\u201d in the country music world, so they made him audition just like any other actor, and told them\u00a0they \u201cshould not\u201d make him<\/strong>\u00a0do that, but they weren\u2019t having it:<\/p>\n \u201cOh yeah, that all happened because we were writing a song here. He had talked about wanting to act, and I\u2019m sitting there, and that\u2019s when \u2018Marshals\u2019 was starting to come together, and a little lightbulb sort of went off, I was like, \u2018Hey, you should you should be in my show.\u2019<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n Brought it up to my showrunner now, and he loved the idea as a fan of Riley\u2019s. We wrote him a part, and we thought, great, this is happening. And then the network, they don\u2019t really know the country music scene, so they weren\u2019t super aware of how big of a deal Riley is.<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n So they made him audition, which I thought was really funny. I was like, \u2018You guys, you should not make this guy do this.\u2019\u201d<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n Riley has since said\u00a0he\u2019s glad he had to audition<\/strong>, and he\u2019s done a pretty solid job not only considering that Garrett is a very complex character, but also the fact that this is Riley\u2019s first official acting role (other than some of his music videos).<\/p>\n And the writers over at\u00a0Marshals<\/em>\u00a0weren\u2019t going to let Riley get away from his first gig without him having a love interest, and during this week\u2019s episode, Garrett and Andrea (Ash Santos) are kicking things up a notch.<\/p>\n In a clip revealed by\u00a0People,<\/em>\u00a0you see Kayce walk into his kitchen to see her making coffee, telling her he didn\u2019t realize she was still there.<\/p>\n She replies:<\/p>\n \u201cI ain\u2019t no two-cheek sneak. You want some joe?\u201d\u00a0<\/strong><\/em><\/p>\n Right on cue, Garrett walks in to say:<\/p>\n \u201cI\u2019ll tell you what, coyote. If we had teammates like Andrea in the Navy, I\u2019d still be a SEAL.\u201d<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n Kayce responds:<\/p>\n \u201cBeing held captive by the Cleggs wasn\u2019t torture enough?\u201d\u00a0<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n Of course, while\u00a0Andrea is a bad*** US marshal, she\u2019s also just a girl, and she explained that she just couldn\u2019t resist the \u201cpower of a country ballad,\u201d as Riley played his song\u00a0\u201cMy Way\u201d<\/strong>\u00a0during last week\u2019s episode:<\/p>\n \u201cWho knew? I can\u2019t resist the power of a country ballad.\u201d<\/strong><\/em><\/p>\n The full episode will play out tonight, but in the clip, we do see Garrett and Andrea share a kiss, after Kayce tells Garrett that he needs help prepping the lower pastures because he has to \u201cearn room and board for your overnight guest.\u201d Fair enough\u2026<\/p>\n They also have Garrett walk out shirtless, and I think they\u2019re certainly using Riley to his full potential from the singing to putting his good looks on full display\u2026<\/p>\n The full episode will play out tonight on CBS at 8:00 EST.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/p>\n
