Kellie Pickler has broken her silence after her husband Kyle Jacobs\u2019 death by suicide.<\/p>\n

\u201cOne of the most beautiful lessons my husband taught me was in a moment of a crisis, if you don\u2019t know what to do, \u2018Do nothing, just be still.\u2019 I have chosen to heed his advice,\u201d the\u00a0country star\u00a0said in a statement to People magazine on Thursday.<\/p>\n

She continued, \u201cThank you to my family, friends and supporters, for the countless letters, calls and messages that you have sent my way.\u201d<\/p>\n

The American Idol Alum said the support \u201chas truly touched my soul and it\u2019s helping me get through the darkest time in my life. As many of you have told me, you are all in my prayers.\u201d<\/p>\n

Pickler and the songwriter\/producer were married in 2011 in a surprise\u00a0New Year\u2019s Day ceremony.<\/p>\n

The\u00a0\u201cAmerican Idol\u201d\u00a0alum shared numerous loving posts dedicated to Jacobs, whom she\u2019s called \u201cmy love,\u201d over the years.<\/p>\n

In 2016, she shared a sweet birthday post for Jacobs on her Instagram, writing, \u201cHappy birthday to my loving husband and best friend. You are truly my greatest treasure\u2026 I love you so much!\u201d<\/p>\n
