If you haven\u2019t seen it yet, buckle up \u2014 it\u2019s pure magic."},"content":{"rendered":"<article id=\"post-37248\" class=\"post-37248 post type-post status-publish format-standard has-post-thumbnail hentry category-uncategorized\">\n<div class=\"entry-content\">\n<div class=\"blog-post__subtitle\">\n<p>Reba McEntire both opened and closed NBC\u2019s\u00a0<em>Opry 100: A Live Celebration<\/em>, which you can watch on Peacock now.<\/p>\n<div class=\"code-block code-block-1\"><\/div>\n<p><em>Opry 100: A Live Celebration<\/em>\u00a0was filled with\u00a0countless iconic moments, including one very special performance by two of the all-time country greats.<\/p>\n<p>The show opened with\u00a0<em>Happy\u2019s Place\u00a0<\/em>star\u00a0Reba McEntire\u00a0doing an a cappella rendition of Patsy Cline\u2019s \u201cSweet Dreams\u201d followed by a tribute to Loretta Lynn with a cover of \u201cYou Ain\u2019t Woman Enough.\u201d<\/p>\n<div class=\"code-block code-block-2\"><\/div>\n<p>Moments later,\u00a0Trisha Yearwood\u00a0joined McEntire on stage for a stunning performance of \u201cThe Night the Lights Went Out in Georgia,\u201d a Southern Gothic murder ballad that McEntire herself released a cover of in 1991.<\/p>\n<p>Lyrics like\u00a0<em>\u201cWell, don\u2019t trust your soul to no backwoods Southern lawyer \/ \u2018Cause the judge in the town\u2019s got bloodstains on his hands\u201d<\/em>\u00a0were sung so well by the two women, it\u2019s easy to overlook the song\u2019s rather dark subject matter.
