It had been a long time coming after being postponed due to the pandemic but Michael Bubl\u00e9\u2019s Welsh gig was well worth the wait as fans were treated to a string of hits, including a selection of Elvis\u2019 tracks. And, between songs, the Canadian crooner injected plenty of humour as he bantered with fans and put them centre stage. Bubl\u00e9 was the latest in a line up of names to perform at\u00a0Cardiff Castle\u00a0this summer, which also include\u00a0Pete Tong\u00a0and\u00a0A-ha.<\/p>\n

And like those before him, he didn\u2019t disappoint. This was one of a number of UK dates on the rescheduled An Evening with Michael Bubl\u00e9 tour, which sees the the four-time Grammy Award winner perform a series of open-air concerts at locations such as stately homes and castles.<\/p>\n

Opening with Feeling Good, this high-energy show brought non-stop hits as Bubl\u00e9 performed along with his superb backing singers and incredible big band musicians, who also acted as impromptu dancers, swaying along to the music when they weren\u2019t required to play an instrument.<\/p>\n

Bubl\u00e9 was clearly delighted to be performing live music again after lockdown, telling the delighted crowd: \u201cI\u2019m finally here. Oh my God, I missed you so much!\u201d<\/p>\n

A walkway straight from the stage stretching into the crowd against the castle backdrop meant the singer could connect with his fans much easier. There were plenty of quips with one who held up a T-shirt with the slogan: \u2018I\u2019d go gay for you Bubl\u00e9\u2019 and lots of chatter with an eight-year-old who had been held aloft.<\/p>\n

He stopped to sign hats and T-shirts that landed at his feet and he even stepped down from the walkway to shake hands with lucky fans who had a front row seat. At one point, he read out a message sent to him on social media from one fan among the Cardiff crowd who asked if he would dedicate a song to her mum who had recently suffered the loss of both her parents within weeks and he was more than happy to oblige.<\/p>\n
