Bubl\u00e9 also has two younger sisters, Brandee and Crystal, who he described as \u201cthe two best friends any lucky guy could ask for\u201d in a\u00a0sweet post on Instagram.<\/p>\n<p>In addition to being Canadian, Bubl\u00e9\u2019s parents are also both of Italian descent. And Bubl\u00e9 himself\u00a0spent six years working as a fisherman\u00a0with his dad. While Bubl\u00e9 told Mandel he just \u201cloved it out there\u201d on the ship, his father urged him to pursue a different career path.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cListen, I was supposed to be a fisherman. I was supposed to go out there and sort of continue [the business],\u201d Bubl\u00e9 said. \u201cMy dad would say to me over and over again, \u2018Son, I want you to work with your head not your hands \u2026 Don\u2019t do what I\u2019m doing, this is too hard, it\u2019s too this, too dangerous, too volatile.\u2019\u201d<\/p>\n<p>So when Bubl\u00e9 started performing in nightclubs as a teen, he said his parents \u201cwere thrilled\u201d to see him succeeding in another profession. \u201cEven though it was, like, singing, I think they felt I had enough talent to make a living at it,\u201d he said. \u201cI think my dad was happy that I wasn\u2019t going to be a fisherman, honestly.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>While he didn\u2019t become a fisherman, Bubl\u00e9 wrote in his book that he \u201clearned to act like a man\u201d on his father\u2019s boat: \u201cMy dad Lewis taught me that if I acted honourably with people, they would act honourably with me.\u201d<\/p>\n<h2>Michael Bubl\u00e9 discovered singing as a kid after his dad taught him a clever lesson<\/h2>\n<p>In his\u00a0book\u00a0<em>Onstage, Offstage<\/em>,\u00a0Bubl\u00e9 shared that his journey with singing started when his father came up with a creative way for him to memorize their home address.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cIt all began when I was a little kid, when I learned my family\u2019s address. My father taught me to sing it, because he knew that by singing it, I\u2019d remember it. She was tough. She demanded her children respect their elders, try to be gracious and lead with humility and empathy,\u201d he told\u00a0<em>Parade<\/em>. \u201cAnother thing she also taught us was to never, ever take someone\u2019s dignity. That didn\u2019t just turn me into a better person, it made me a great entertainer. I genuinely care about the people who come see me perform.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>In his 2011 book, Bubl\u00e9 admitted that while he \u201cwasn\u2019t an easy kid to raise,\u201d his mother made him feel safe through rules and discipline. \u201cWhen I was growing up, she was the perfect blend: a mother I was afraid of, who was also a great guiding presence for my two sisters and me. And he certainly doesn\u2019t hesitate to gush about how amazing they are.<\/p>\n<p>For example, in a touching Father\u2019s Day post on\u00a0Instagram, Bubl\u00e9 captioned a childhood photo of him with his dad, \u201cWhen I was a kid, I thought my dad was superman.
