Michael Bubl\u00e9\u00a0is opening up about how his young son\u2019s cancer diagnosis shifted his priorities.<\/p>\n

The 48-year-old Canadian singer recently appeared on the\u00a0Diary of a CEO\u00a0<\/em>podcast, where he reflected on how his young son, Noah, was\u00a0diagnosed with liver cancer in 2016.<\/p>\n

\u201cMy son\u2019s cancer diagnosis rocked my world and pulled the curtain from over my eyes,\u201d Bubl\u00e9 told host Steven Bartlett. \u201cThat was a sledgehammer to my reality. I will never be carefree again in my life, and that\u2019s okay. It is a privilege for me to exist. That pain, the fear, the suffering that comes with those sort of things, I guess it\u2019s part of this beautiful life.\u201d<\/p>\n

Bubl\u00e9 has four children \u2014\u00a0Noah, Elias, Vida, and Cielo \u2014\u00a0with his wife Luisana Lopilato. Noah, now 10, was diagnosed with liver cancer when he was only 3 years old. He\u2019s since been in remission since 2017.<\/p>\n

\u201cWhen it actually happened, I was going through, I think, a crisis,\u201d Bubl\u00e9 continued. \u201cI don\u2019t think I had my priorities straight. My family was always the love [of my life] and I don\u2019t think I was a terrible guy, but it was blinders: career, ambition. How do I become the baddest, biggest, best? More ego, more power, more money?\u201d<\/p>\n

Instead, Bubl\u00e9 explained, his family\u2019s health struggles helped him rethink his priorities. He remembered being at a children\u2019s hospital immediately after Noah\u2019s diagnosis and making a promise to himself.<\/p>\n

\u201cI remember closing my eyes and saying to myself, \u2018If we get out of this, I\u2019m going to live a different life, a better life,\u2019\u201d Bubl\u00e9 said. \u201cAnd I did. I made that promise to myself in like a moment. I want to be kinder. I want to be more empathetic. I don\u2019t ever want to allow that ego and that false self to take over. I want to know how lucky I am.\u201d<\/p>\n

Bubl\u00e9 celebrated Noah\u2019s 10th birthday\u00a0earlier this year with an Instagram post. \u201cNoa, mi amor, 10 years!!! What??\u201d he wrote on social media. \u201cIt went so fast, you don\u2019t even know how much we love you.
