Many more opportunities have come his way with the help of coach Snoop Dogg"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Just a few days after ending his run on NBC\u2019s singing competition \u201cThe Voice,\u201d Memphis native Jeremy Beloate is back home, having returned to the Mid-South to spend the holidays with his family. But, for Beloate, life has suddenly become very different following his 10-week run in the national spotlight, and it\u2019s about to change even more.<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter\" src=\"https:\/\/www.commercialappeal.com\/gcdn\/authoring\/authoring-images\/2024\/12\/08\/PMCA\/76854912007-nup-204828-02094.JPG?width=660&amp;height=441&amp;fit=crop&amp;format=pjpg&amp;auto=webp\" alt=\"Memphis native Jeremy Beloate performs on &quot;The Blind Auditions Part 3&quot; on &quot;The Voice.&quot;\" \/><\/p>\n<p>On Sunday, Beloate will perform a special show at the Halloran Centre in Downtown Memphis, a homecoming concert to celebrate his recent success. After that, he will head West to perform as part of the festivities surrounding the Arizona Bowl football game, sponsored Beloate\u2019s \u201cThe Voice\u201d coach and new pal Snoop Dogg and his Gin &amp; Juice cocktail brand. Beloate will then cross the country to go to New York City on New Year\u2019s Eve where he will perform at a private event, before packing up and moving his life to Los Angeles in January. After that, he\u2019ll head off to London to workshop a musical he has been cast in.<\/p>\n<div class=\"yvX69qjq\"><\/div>\n<p>\u201cI\u2019m just kind of like running around like a chicken with my head cut off,\u201d Beloate said. \u201cBut it\u2019s all very exciting.\u201d<\/p>\n<h3>Jeremy Beloate\u2019s road to \u2018The Voice\u2019<\/h3>\n<p>Raised in Bartlett and Germantown, Beloate attended Briarcrest, where he was part of the school\u2019s OneVoice singing group, which competed on season 11 of the TV series \u201cAmerica\u2019s Got Talent.\u201d Beloate went on to perform locally in productions at Theatre Memphis and Playhouse on the Square, as well as appeared at the Mid-South Fair. After attending college, Beloate moved to New York City in 2022 where he has spent the last few years beating the pavement trying to crack Broadway, with little success.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cBefore \u2018The Voice,\u2019 I was at place in my life where I was at a point of giving up,\u201d Beloate said. \u201cI\u2019d been in New York for almost 3\u215f\u2082 years auditioning and had not gotten a single yes. I was like, I\u2019m going to give myself one more year. And I decided if nothing happens, then I\u2019m going to move on.\u201d<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter\" src=\"https:\/\/www.commercialappeal.com\/gcdn\/authoring\/authoring-images\/2024\/12\/08\/PMCA\/76854927007-nup-204831-02687.jpg?width=660&amp;height=441&amp;fit=crop&amp;format=pjpg&amp;auto=webp\" alt=\"Jeremy Beloate performs during &quot;The Battles Part 2&quot; on NBC's &quot;The Voice.&quot;\" \/><\/p>\n<p>After getting some advice from Todrick Hall \u2014 the \u201cAmerican Idol\u201d alum and songwriter\/playwright \u2014 Beloate raised his social media profile and out of the blue, he heard from \u201cThe Voice.\u201d He had already auditioned for the program several times before unsuccessfully.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cSo it was a surprise when they ended up reaching out to me, saying we would love to have you audition for the upcoming season. And it was just this crazy aligned moment where I\u2019m turning 26 years old and it was season 26 of \u2018The Voice.\u2019\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Getting on \u201cThe Voice\u201d proved a much-needed boost, both personally and professionally, for Beloate, who had lost his father and two brothers to addiction in recent years, and then lost a pair of grandparents as well.<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter\" src=\"https:\/\/www.commercialappeal.com\/gcdn\/authoring\/authoring-images\/2024\/12\/10\/PMCA\/76888680007-nup-206467-01725.JPG?width=660&amp;height=441&amp;fit=crop&amp;format=pjpg&amp;auto=webp\" alt=\"Jeremy Beloate performs during the Live Finale Part 1 episode on NBC's &quot;The Voice.&quot;\" \/><\/p>\n<h3>Snoop Dogg and Jeremy Beloate: \u2018a match made in heaven\u2019<\/h3>\n<p>Beloate started his run on the show on pop singer Michael Buble\u0301\u2019s team, but soon was stolen in the Knockout round by another judge, rap legend Snoop Dogg. \u201cWhat was funny is I told Mom the only way I\u2019m looking at this show strategically and the only way I will make it to the live rounds is if I get stolen by Snoop Dogg \u2014 and that\u2019s what happened,\u201d Beloate recalled.<\/p>\n<p>Despite the seeming contrasts between the hip-hop legend and the aspiring Broadway singer, the two immediately formed a kinship.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cYou know, what\u2019s so funny about Snoop is that people have expectations of what he\u2019s like and what he\u2019s into. But Snoop literally knows every song ever written. And he was like, I think you should do \u2018The Impossible Dream.\u2019 And I was like, are you joking? That\u2019s what I\u2019ve been waiting for.\u201d<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter\" src=\"https:\/\/www.commercialappeal.com\/gcdn\/authoring\/authoring-images\/2024\/12\/08\/PMCA\/76854932007-nup-206465-03077.JPG?width=660&amp;height=441&amp;fit=crop&amp;format=pjpg&amp;auto=webp\" alt=\"Memphis native Jeremy Beloate is photographed with Snoop Dogg, his coach on NBC's &quot;The Voice.&quot;\" \/><\/p>\n<p>His performance of the song moved Snoop to tears, wowed the other judges, and helped Beloate secure a spot in the live rounds. He ultimately made it all the way to the finals \u2014 where he duetted with Snoop on Otis Redding\u2019s \u201c(Sittin\u2019 on) The Dock of The Bay\u201d \u2014 before placing fifth overall in the national fan voting.<\/p>\n<p>More importantly, Beloate and Snoop Dogg made a lasting bond. \u201cHe and I have become really connected,\u201d said Beloate. \u201cWe realized we stand for a lot of the same things. And throughout our lives, we\u2019ve each gone through a lot of the same struggles and used them to become better. It\u2019s a match made in heaven. And him and I are going to continue working together in the future.\u201d<\/p>\n<h3>2025 looks to be breakout year for Jeremy Beloate<\/h3>\n<p>In the meantime, Beloate will perform a thank you concert in his hometown this weekend, headlining a show at the Halloran on Sunday \u201cThe love and support I got from Memphis was just amazing,\u201d noted Beloate, \u201cso I just wanted to come home and sing for everyone.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Though Beloate can\u2019t yet confirm details, 2025 looks to be his breakout year, as he\u2019s already got a management company and a label lined up to help him pursue both a recording and acting career. \u201cI\u2019ve always wanted to do everything. I\u2019ve always wanted to be a singer and an actor and an all-around entertainer. And maybe I minimized [my ambition] because I just didn\u2019t believe in myself fully. But after \u2018The Voice,\u2019 I feel like I\u2019ve really grown and I\u2019m ready to do all of that \u2014 like Lady Gaga does, like Jennifer Hudson does, like John Legend does. That\u2019s my goal.\u201d<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter\" src=\"https:\/\/www.commercialappeal.com\/gcdn\/authoring\/authoring-images\/2024\/12\/08\/PMCA\/76854933007-nup-206465-03118-1.JPG?width=660&amp;height=441&amp;fit=crop&amp;format=pjpg&amp;auto=webp\" alt=\"Finalists on Season 26 of &quot;The Voice&quot; are, from left, Sofronio Vasquez, Sydney Sterlace, Danny Joseph, Shye and Jeremy Beloate.\" \/><\/p>\n<p>More than anything \u201cThe Voice\u201d experience has offered some much-needed hope and positivity for Beloate\u2019s family. \u201cFor my mom and my sister this has brought us so much joy and hope after a lot of loss,\u201d he said. \u201cThat\u2019s really the whole reason why I wanted to keep making it on the show and go all the way to the end, was because it\u2019s been a source of indescribable hope and joy for my family.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cAnd so we did it \u2014 we made it to the finale, and we\u2019re all just so happy. And now we\u2019re transitioning to being even more happy for what\u2019s to come.
