Earlier this week,\u00a0The Voice<\/em>\u00a0coach opened up about what the adaptive sports tournament for veterans means to him in an interview on the ground at the\u00a0Invictus Games Vancouver Whistler 2025. Bubl\u00e9, 49, introduced \u201cmy friend\u201d Prince Harry in an upbeat speech at the Whistler Welcome Celebration on Feb. 10 and spoke to\u00a0British Forces Broadcasting Service (BFBS) Radio\u00a0about the effort the Duke and Duchess of Sussex put into making the competition magic.<\/p>\n

\u201cHow does it feel to be here in Whistler today?\u201d the reporter asked the singer in an interview published on Feb. 12, which prompted a heartfelt response.<\/p>\n

\u201cWell, that\u2019s a big question and with a big answer. The truth is, I love Invictus. I love everything it stands for. Every night, wherever I am, and I mean it, anywhere in the world, when I sing the song \u2018Home\u2019 that I wrote, every single night, I dedicate it to the servicemen and women who are a hell of a lot braver than me, who are giving us the freedom to be in a place like this and to enjoy each other. It means a lot to me. It\u2019s deep,\u201d Bubl\u00e9 said.<\/p>\n

\u201cAnd I know how hard Harry and Meghan work at it. I know that it\u2019s a lot, and I love that I can be part of it,\u201d he continued.<\/p>\n

The Grammy Award winner, who is from Barnaby near Vancouver, said he loved to represent \u201cmy city, my country\u201d around Invictus.<\/p>\n

\u201cThere\u2019s a lot of pride here. And listen man, the world needs more good, and we need people like you to give us the ability to feel free and safe and able to raise our kids the right way,\u201d he told the interviewer. Bubl\u00e9 and his wife,\u00a0Luisana Lopilato, share four children, and she joined him at the Whistler Welcome Celebration commemorating the kickoff of Invictus in Whistler.<\/p>\n

\u201cIt\u2019s just nice to hang, it\u2019s nice to see old friends. I\u2019m proud of all the work they do, I really am,\u201d Bubl\u00e9 said later in the conversation, affectionately referencing Prince Harry, 40, and Meghan, 43.<\/p>\n

Bubl\u00e9 and Lopilato previously supported the Invictus Games by joining the Duke and Duchess of Sussex at the Invictus Games Vancouver Whistler\u2019s One Year to Go countdown event in February 2024, where Bubl\u00e9 and Harry\u00a0hit the ice\u00a0to try wheelchair curling, one of the new winter sports that debuted at the tournament this year. The couples also hit the town for a\u00a0double date night\u00a0in Vancouver, where Chef Vikram Vij of\u00a0Vij\u2019s\u00a0restaurant exclusively told PEOPLE, \u201cThey were extremely friendly and nice.\u201d<\/p>\n

Bubl\u00e9 and Lopilato, 37, returned to root for the Invictus Games Vancouver Whistler 2025 at the Whistler Welcome Celebration on Feb. 10, where they spent time with Prince Harry and Meghan. The Duke of Sussex, a former captain in the British Army, launched the Invictus Games as an international adaptive sports tournament for wounded, injured and sick veterans as a means for healing in 2014, and the current cycle in Canada is the Games\u2019 seventh iteration.<\/p>\n

The 2025 Invictus Games are running from Feb. 8 to Feb. 16 between the cities of Vancouver and Whistler, and Harry, Meghan, Bubl\u00e9 and Lopilato\u00a0went back to Vij\u2019s for dinner\u00a0on the first night of the competition.<\/p>\n

On Feb. 12, the \u201cEverything\u201d singer introduced Harry on stage for the Whistler Welcome Celebration. There, charmed the crowd with an a capella rendition of \u201cFeeling Good\u201d and told the Invictus athletes that they are \u201creal superheroes.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cIt\u2019s humbling and it\u2019s an honor for me, and I know how difficult something like this is, and I wanted to make sure I did this right. Because without the incredible effort of this young man, none of this would happen,\u201d Bubl\u00e9 said later on stage. \u201cSo please welcome the Duke of Sussex and the founder of the Invictus Games Foundation, my friend, Prince Harry,\u201d he added, and the two shared a handshake and hug.<\/p>\n

Speaking exclusively to PEOPLE at the Invictus Games, Prince Harry shared his excitement for everything ahead.<\/p>\n

\u201cIt\u2019s incredible to be back in Canada. Canada couldn\u2019t be more appropriate to host the first Winter Games. Everyone is so excited,\u201d the Duke of Sussex says.<\/p>\n
