With the\u00a0Maroon 5\u00a0frontman making his return as a coach for season 27 of \u201cThe Voice\u201d\u00a0after\u00a0exiting in 2019, he reflected on why he was ready to sit back in his cherry red throne.<\/p>\n

\u201cI just felt like it was time,\u201d Levine told\u00a0E! News\u00a0correspondent\u00a0Will Marfuggi\u00a0in an exclusive interview. \u201cI had some time to reflect and do my thing and be with my family.\u201d<\/p>\n

As he put it, \u201cI was ready to do it, then the stars aligned and here I am.\u201d<\/p>\n

Despite making his decision to leave the show after 16 seasons in 2019, the 45-year-old \u2014 who shares kids\u00a0Dusty Rose, 8,\u00a0Gio Grace, 6,\u00a0and 2-year-old son\u00a0with wife\u00a0Behati Prinsloo\u00a0\u2014 doesn\u2019t regret the move.<\/p>\n

\u201cIt\u2019s funny, I actually didn\u2019t miss it while I was gone,\u201d he admitted. \u201cBut I became more nostalgic about it once I came back.\u201d<\/p>\n

As for how the \u201cSugar\u201d singer feels being alongside coaches\u00a0John Legend,\u00a0Michael Bubl\u00e9\u00a0and\u00a0Kelsea Ballerini?<\/p>\n

\u201cI feel like no time has passed, but then it also feels so different in an amazing way,\u201d he reflected. \u201cI\u2019m just super happy and pumped. I love these guys so much.\u201d<\/p>\n

But despite Levine\u2019s sudden departure from the singing competition six years ago, he did\u00a0make a brief cameo\u00a0during the season 23 finale in 2023 to perform Maroon 5\u2019s song \u201cMiddle Ground.\u201d<\/p>\n

When the musician \u2014 who also worked with\u00a0Blake Shelton,\u00a0Christina Aguilera,\u00a0Shakira,\u00a0Gwen Stefani\u00a0and\u00a0more over the years\u00a0\u2014\u00a0first\u00a0said goodbye, he\u00a0shared insight into\u00a0his experience\u00a0filming for nearly a decade.<\/p>\n

\u201cIt went on to be a life-shaping experience that will be close to my heart forever,\u201d he wrote on\u00a0Instagram\u00a0at the time. \u201cI am truly honored to have been a part of something I\u2019ll always cherish for the rest of my life.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cThank you to every single coach I ever sat in those chairs with,\u201d he continued. \u201cThat is shared experience that is singularly ours. We have that for life. Thank you to everyone who supported this long strange and amazing left turn into a place I never thought I\u2019d go.\u201d<\/p>\n
