In 2016, Bubl\u00e9 sat down for\u00a0an interview with Dan Rather\u00a0on AXS-TV and shared a few impressions of fellow musicians he loves.<\/p>\n

\u201cYou have a reputation of being a very good mimic. Can you do a few?\u201d Rather asked Bubl\u00e9.<\/p>\n

\u201cYou know what, it\u2019s funny. When you study, I talked to Tony Bennett about this last night, \u2018cause he\u2019s the one who had great advice for me, he said, \u2018Michael, you steal from everybody and it\u2019s research. You steal from one you\u2019re just a thief,\u2019\u201d Bubl\u00e9 recalled with a smile. \u201cSo by learning and finding these people that I loved, I started to be able to take things and aspects of them that I loved. And there were certain things that I found, characteristics of their vocal ability or even their technique that I found sort of fascinating.\u201d<\/p>\n

For example, Bubl\u00e9 said \u201cSinatra would sing hard on his vowels\u201d before singing a snippet of the singer\u2019s song \u201cYou Make Me Feel So Young,\u201d which Bubl\u00e9 himself covered in 2013 on his album\u00a0To Be Loved.\u00a0<\/em><\/p>\n

Bubl\u00e9 also studied how Dean Martin, aka the \u201cKing of Cool,\u201d would sing. \u201cI love Dean Martin so much because he would, like, drop his epiglottis and it would seem so easy,\u201d he explained, adding that Presley\u00a0\u201chad a very similar sound, a style\u201d to Martin.<\/p>\n

\u201cElvis would get real deep \u2026 He had a quick vibrato,\u201d Bubl\u00e9 said as he sang Presley\u2019s famous lyrics,\u00a0\u201cWise men say, only fools rush in\u201d<\/em>\u00a0from his 1961 song \u201cCan\u2019t Help Falling in Love.\u201d<\/p>\n
