I have never ever! I\u2019ve been on\u00a0<em>American Idol<\/em>\u00a0since I was that big,\u201d Richie said after the performance, unable to contain himself. \u201cI have never had any contestant walk out on this stage and tear the place up.\u201d<\/p>\n<p class=\"mb-4 text-lg md:leading-8 break-words\">\u201cThe place got blown up. That Janis Joplin sounding, Tina Turner sounding. I don\u2019t know who you are, but that right there was the greatest performance I have ever seen on this stage,\u201d he added.<\/p>\n<p class=\"mb-4 text-lg md:leading-8 break-words\">Guest advisor and judge Keke Palmer was moved to tears during rehearsals, telling Richardson: \u201cThat voice was ancestral, girl. What you\u2019re doing is more than just singing. You\u2019re embodying spirit through song.\u201d After the performance, Palmer drew a pointed comparison.<\/p>\n<p class=\"mb-4 text-lg md:leading-8 break-words\">\u201cThe last time I\u2019ve seen somebody make me feel like this and get people turned up like this, her name was Fantasia Barrino,\u201d she said. \u201cAnd she won\u00a0<em>American Idol<\/em>.\u201d<\/p>\n<p class=\"mb-4 text-lg md:leading-8 break-words\">Carrie Underwood added: \u201cYou don\u2019t think about what you\u2019re doing as it\u2019s happening. It just flows out of you. You were in the moment, you were having fun with the audience. It was from the heavens to Keyla and then out to us. It was spectacular.\u201d Luke Bryan rounded out the praise: \u201cYou\u2019re just here to let what God has given you come out.\u201d<\/p>\n<p class=\"mb-4 text-lg md:leading-8 break-words\">Richardson has been a standout since her Season 24 audition, when she performed P!nk\u2019s \u201cGlitter in the Air\u201d and brought Bryan to tears. She has previous competition experience \u2014 she was a Top 4 finalist on BET\u2019s\u00a0<em>Sunday Best<\/em>\u00a0in 2019, and subsequently landed her first No. 1 on Billboard\u2019s Gospel Airplay chart with the single \u201cSo Good.\u201d<\/p>\n<p class=\"mb-4 text-lg md:leading-8 break-words\">She has been a music teacher at Life Shifting Learning Academy in Florida and serves as a praise and worship leader at her church.
