Meet the 'American Idol' 2026 Contestant\" \/><\/p>\n<p>Advisors Keke Palmer and Brad Paisley were immediately impressed in rehearsals, with the latter dubbing her a \u201cperfect singer.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Palmer was particularly moved by Richardson, so much so that she broke down in tears as she watched her perform.<\/p>\n<div class=\"code-block code-block-5\"><\/div>\n<p><iframe loading=\"lazy\" title=\"Keyla Richardson Has Keke Palmer Fainting From &quot;With A Little Help From My Friends&quot; - American Idol\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/UdyGl6PIyK8?feature=oembed\" width=\"790\" height=\"444\" frameborder=\"0\" allowfullscreen=\"allowfullscreen\" data-origwidth=\"790\" data-origheight=\"444\" data-mce-fragment=\"1\"><\/iframe><\/p>\n<p>\u201cThat voice was ancestral, girl,\u201d Palmer said after she gave Richardson a hug. \u201cWhat you\u2019re doing is more than just singing. You\u2019re embodying spirit through song. The iconic singer was pacing back and forth as he declared, \u201cI have never. I have never ever! I\u2019ve been on American Idol since I was that big. I have never had any contestant walk out on this stage and tear the place up.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe place got blown up. That Janis Joplin sounding, Tina Turner sounding. I don\u2019t know who you are, but that right there was the greatest performance I have ever seen on this stage,\u201d he added. \u201cThat was ridiculous.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>As the other judges began to weigh in on the performance, Richie kept pacing and asserting, \u201cI have never!\u201d<\/p>\n<p>While Richie continued to process how mind blown he was, Palmer gave her two cents.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cLionel had to bring me back to life. He had to resuscitate me up in the place,\u201d the guest judge said. \u201cThe last time I\u2019ve seen somebody make me feel like this and get people turned up like this, her name was Fantasia Barrino. It just flows out of you,\u201d she said. \u201cYou were in the moment. You were having fun with the audience\u2026 It was from the heavens to Keyla and then out to us. It was spectacular.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Luke Bryan spoke last, telling Richardson, \u201cYou\u2019re just here to let what God has given you come out.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Viewers at home can vote for Richardson by texting 20 to 21523, navigating to the American Idol website, or by commenting \u201cKeyla\u201d on Idol\u2018s pinned posts on Facebook, Instagram, or TikTok.
