The Voice<\/em>\u00a0has gotten quite intense at some points over the years, and nobody should know that better than Adam Levine. The OG coach returned for Season 27 \u2014 currently airing on the\u00a02025 TV schedule<\/u>\u00a0\u2014 and given the fact that he\u2019s been involved in some of the\u00a0show\u2019s most controversial moments<\/u>, I found it absolutely hilarious when he said in an interview that he doesn\u2019t see\u00a0The Voice<\/em>\u00a0as a competition. Well, here we are, just two episodes into the season, and it seems Michael Bubl\u00e9 may have just proved him right.<\/p>\n

What Adam Levine Said About The Voice Not Being A Competition Show<\/h2>\n

Fans were happy to see Adam Levine<\/u>\u00a0return to join veteran John Legend, defending champion Michael Bubl\u00e9 and rookie Kelsea Ballerini on\u00a0The Voice<\/em><\/u>\u00a0coaching panel<\/u>\u00a0this season, and maybe it\u2019s the fact that his old rival Blake Shelton has long since retired his Big Red Chair, but the Maroon 5 singer seemed to have a more brotherly approach to coaching, as he told\u00a0People<\/u>\u00a0ahead of Season 27:<\/p>\n

I don\u2019t really see it as a competition anymore, and I know they\u2019re not going to like that, but that\u2019s not what it is. It\u2019s an opportunity for us to share our experiences with the people on the show. And it always has been that.<\/em><\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/blockquote>\n

I have to say, I kind of love the new attitude, where it\u2019s less about winning and more about making the most of the artists\u2019 experience. (That\u2019s the reason I\u2019ve always thought\u00a0The Voice<\/em><\/u>\u00a0should get rid of Blocks<\/u>.) Levine continued:<\/p>\n

I mean, you definitely get competitive that those juices flow for sure. But I don\u2019t see it as a competition and I don\u2019t think that I can bring anything other than what I have just from life and a career. And I think that\u2019s really valuable for the people on the show that are needing that experience, or that push that help. And that\u2019s what I think we\u2019re there for.<\/p>\n

I\u2019m definitely all for that, because it\u2019s true that it\u2019s not just the\u00a0artist who wins the money\u00a0at the end that has the chance to capitalize on this experience. Excuse my skepticism, though, but this kinder, gentler Adam Levine was something I had to see to believe. It didn\u2019t take long, either, thanks to the panel\u2019s Canadian crooner.<\/p>\n

How Michael Bubl\u00e9 Helped To Prove Adam Levine Right<\/h2>\n

On Night 2 of the Blind Auditions, which aired February 10,\u00a0Hayden Grove<\/strong>\u00a0took the stage for a rendition of \u201cMack the Knife\u201d \u2014 a song clearly in Michael Bubl\u00e9\u2019s wheelhouse. It turns out Bubl\u00e9 has even crossed paths with Grove in real life and followed him on social media, but by the end of the audition, only Adam Levine had turned around.<\/p>\n

The winning Season 26 coach explained that Hayden Grove\u2019s vibrato had given him pause, and Michael Bubl\u00e9 even got on stage to demonstrate how standards are traditionally sung. Even though Grove was joining an opposing team, Bubl\u00e9 expressed interest in bettering the artist, telling Adam Levine:<\/p>\n

My point is this: You\u2019re gonna help him. I know he\u2019s on your team, and he\u2019s gonna dominate, but I\u2019m gonna help you to help him, because he has everything it takes.<\/em><\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/blockquote>\n

Adam Levine, for his part, welcomed the offer, telling his new team member:<\/p>\n

I love that! \u2026 I don\u2019t have the knowledge about the song that you sang that he has, but a great voice is a great voice is a great voice. It doesn\u2019t matter. We\u2019re gonna have a blast.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/blockquote>\n
