having two of his Christmas songs reach the top-10-most-played on Spotify,\u201d said Lucas Costa, market development manager for Jackpot City.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>With nearly 32 million streams in the first three weeks of November, Bubl\u00e9\u2019s hits \u201cHolly Jolly Christmas\u201d and \u201cIt\u2019s Beginning to Look a Lot Like Christmas\u201d were expected to be streamed nearly 1.6 billion times globally by the end of December.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>That still falls short of the 1.8 billion streams expected for Carey\u2019s \u201cAll I Want for Christmas is You.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<div class=\"embed-height\"><iframe src=\"https:\/\/open.spotify.com\/embed\/playlist\/5mXg7oRz7713OOKmmicQik?utm_source=generator\" height=\"500\" frameborder=\"0\" data-mce-fragment=\"1\" data-origwidth=\"\" data-origheight=\"500\"><\/iframe><\/div>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>Jackpot City tracked the number of plays for each popular Christmas song over the first three weeks of November on Spotify. By analyzing the cumulative increase in streams for each song, analysts were able to estimate the number of streams each song could get by Christmas Day and how much this could make each artist in royalty payments.<\/p>\n<div class=\"KWiVVoIJ\"><\/div>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>Songs by Carey, Wham!, Brenda Lee, and Bobby Helms are the top four holiday favourites. They\u2019re expected to see the largest rise in overall plays by Christmas, according to Jackpot City.<\/p>\n<\/section>\n<section class=\"article-content__content-group article-content__content-group--story\">&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>\u201cLast Christmas\u201d by Wham! is predicted to earn more than $5.9 million in royalty payments from more than 1.47 million plays, while \u201cRockin\u2019 Around the Christmas Tree\u201d by Lee could earn as much as $5.4 million over the holiday season.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p data-async=\"\">While lucrative, cracking the top 10 holiday playlist\u00a0can be tough. Most songs in the top 10 are from artists with\u00a0decades-long careers\u00a0or who are deceased.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>There are some exceptions. Kelly Clarkson\u2019s \u201cUnderneath the Tree\u201d was released in 2013 and is expected to be the fifth most-played holiday song this season, earning an estimated $3.7 million. And \u201cSnowman,\u201d by Australian artist Sia, which was released in 2018, is expected to rank eighth, earning an estimated $3.5 million.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>Despite only releasing her Christmas song in 2023, Sabrina Carpenter looks set to earn more this year with \u201cNonsense Christmas\u201d than Bing Crosby\u2019s 1941 classic \u201cWhite Christmas.\u201d Carpenter is expected to break the top 20 and could earn $1.8 million from \u201cNonsense Christmas\u201d this season.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>\u201cAfter her mega hits this year, Sabrina Carpenter might also dominate the festive season, with plays of her song \u2018Nonsense Christmas\u2019 predicted to reach into the top 20 after only being released last year.
